Hamidon Raids (or lack of) for the next few weeks

This post is to inform the Protector community that over the course of the next few weeks, many of the regular raid team leaders will be out of town and unavailable to assist in promoting, organizing, and leading the regular Saturday Hamidon raids.

The next raid from the usual raid leaders is expected to be July 31st. More information will be posted at a later date.

Is that your way of volunteering to lead a Raid in Kid's (for this week) and my absence (the following two weekends)?

No, just a tongue-in-cheek poke at drama long-past.

As for whether or not I'd like to run one...

Don't know. Never run one before.

From how it looks, Kid's more of a maestro. The individuals and groups tend to know what they have to do, they just need somebody to let them know when. Without the maestro, without the people to lead the necessary groups, I have my doubts about successful Hamidon Raids.

Considering my record when it comes to organizing PUG TFs, I have my doubts about having the necessary recognition to successfully lead a Hamidon Raid.

Yes. The raid leader is the coordinator, and Kid does a good job of coordinating the effort. He contributed greatly (dare I say co-wrote) to the Hamidon Raid guide that I posted (and we're not quite finished fine tuning it).

It was written and posted to pass on the things that we (collectively) have learned, and techniques that have worked for us. Hopefully, someone will find it useful and they too can be consistently successful.

I (and although I cannot speak for the other raid team leaders, I am sure they feel the same way) am more than willing to assist someone else who would like to lead a team or even lead a raid.

With that, my first unsolicited suggestion is this: bring all of your patience, all of your charisma, and as many calm, confident, competent associates with you. Hamidon raids can be either things of beauty when things go well, or traumatic and frustrating experiences when things don't progress smoothly.

My second unsolicited suggestion would be to start off by volunteering to lead the Spike team, then the general assault team, then the Yellow Mito Aggro team, the Hamidon Aggro Team, and finally coordinate the entire raid. Trying to lead the entire thing can be an extremely daunting experience when trying to control your own character, lead your team (whatever their focus), and lead the other teams. Kid is able to manage the Hamidon Aggro Team, be the Hamidon Taunter on that team, and be the raid coordinator, but it isn't necessary for those three roles to be the same person.

And my final unsolicited suggestion is: bring a lot more EoEs than you think you need.

10, 17, 24... that's 3.

If somebody you're arguing with goes off the deep end, don't follow.

And that is why I am not volunteering to try to lead. I do not have the patience.

Having said that, if someone steps up with the requisite skills to have a real chance to run a successful raid... I'll step up to help.

I used to lead old style jello raids... they can become a headache pretty quick with people not listening or doing what the leaders are saying.

I would be more than happy to attempt to lead the yellow melee team if the opportunity presents itself. Or perhaps leading the yellow team for the next scheduled raid with supervision

Maybe I could Lead a Hami Raid during my show. Because everyone could tune in to get instructions? A way to gratuitiously inflate my listener count?

Mostly the second one...
