Thug/Traps build review please

I have a lowbie Thugs/Traps that I'm enjoying, but I'd like you folks to review my planned build. I believe this build will softcap the pets' defenses, and it should softcap me to Smashing/Lethal (along with 41% AoE, 37% ranged, and 30% melee for non-S/L damage). There are no purples or HOs because this is a leveling build.

s/l is at 54% with ranged at 37%. I suggest dropping s/l closer to 45% and bring ranged up to 45. Anything else is butter.

Drop one slot from health and move it over to triage beacon. 6 slot triage beacon with numis. That'll give you 3.75%.

Change seeker drones to clouded senses. That'll swap out the AOE for ranged and give you another 3.75%. You'll typically face a lot more ranged than you will AOE.

There's your 45% ranged right there.

Unless I'm missing it, I don't see the steadfast protection 3%. Slot that sucker!

After that you can probably drop down to a single slot in superspeed and move the 2 slots elsewhere. Maybe 3 slot stamina and hasten.

Enjoy.

Regards,
Fitz

Thanks for the comments, Fitz. I'm a bit torn on the Ranged vs AoE issue; seems like I get killed from splash damage from AoE more often than ranged, but I'll mull it over.

I don't see an obvious place to slot the Steadfast 3% unique. I'd have to drop the Scorp Shield and pick up a resistance-based shield to use that wouldn't I? Or is there another power in my build that can take it that I'm just missing?

Yep, you're right! I'm a schmuck.

Unless you're running at +4x8 with bosses ranged plus s/l should be enough. Plus you get BG mode if you need it!

1 positional and the main typed softcapped is better than one well above softcap and 2 close-ish positionals to softcap. And that one positional imo (even for a traps) should be ranged.

Oooooh! Blood mandate gives you 3.75 to AOE and Ranged! OOOOOH!!!

I just solved all your problems buddy, I was expecting it to be more difficult.

Now you can still lower that s/l and work up some other stuff like HP or recharge or slot some other powers up.

But here are the changes I made:

44.5% is the sfotcap so with AOE at 44.8 you're covered.

I'd have to check the numbers on the thugs, I'm not sure how much of an impact dropping out the 2 defense IOs from call enforcers is and if the thugs were at softcap to begin with.

Just download and swap out Robots for Thugs. Viola !!! More defense then you can shake a stick at.

Here is the simple trick.. Anything that is traps this is the build. ANYTHING.. So you can use this on a defender.. On a Corruptor.. IF your looking for Defense cap stuff.

IF your gonna do Mastermind.. Raterro has a KILLER build. Because it has all of this and ALOT Of Damage bonus if you can afford what he is listing.. He mentioned he has 2 billion to play with. I might have 200 million..

http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=227434

That is the link to his thread which is on the same page just below yours..

Here is my build reworked off what he posted.

Since I swapped out Robots for Thugs the Power placement is going to be OFFFF.. So you will have to rework where you want your thug powers level wise..
