Murky Cloud, for who?
Quote:
Dark Armor was originally built on the idea of "toggle" management. The basic gameplay premise is that you, the player, would select which armor to have active at any given time.
Does anyone have a list of foes that have the fire/cold/energy/negative damage.
I currently am 28 and only run it for freakshow, because of the end drain, but I think there might be an enemy that has that enrgy/neg damage type that I should be running the toggle, but currently am not. |
The set has never been "rebalanced" for the "toggle and leave running" play style actually used by players of the game.
The result is that Dark Armor with all of it's aura's active is the second most endurance intensive armor set out of all of the defensive armors. Only Stone Armor's stackable toggles consume more endurance.
Even if you discount Cloak of Fear, the endurance drain is pretty close to all of the Stackable Ice toggles.
The reason why I'm telling you this is that because of the original game design there may not be anybody in your particular level range that Murky Cloud protects against damage from.
Something else you have to consider is that Murky Cloud is also your Endurance Recovery Debuff Resistance power.
Enemy Groups that can drain endurance include: Clockwork, Malta, Carnival, Tsoo, Banished Pantheon, Rikti, Freakshow, Crey, Rularuu (AV), 5th Column (AV / EB), Arachnos, Circle of Thorns...
well, actually, it's easier listing enemy groups that do NOT have an endurance drain really.
So, it's a bit of a two-edged sword. The end-drain on Dark Armor is pretty high no matter what you do, but if you don't run Murky Cloud, anybody with a -recov power is going to knock you out of a fight even faster.
On SO's... Dark Armor sucks. I'm sorry, it just does. On IO's you can make some pretty good Dark Armor builds, but it will generally be expensive... and Soul Transfer will still seem like a must-have power.

Now, Dark Armor's pathetic SO capabilities and omg that end-drain is just way too high for what the set does have been brought to the attention of Castle.
A proposed change of adding a +recovery rate buff to Dark Regeneration has been made... I don't know if Castle will actually go for the change though.

There is one, the Theft of the Essence Proc in DR can make you sometimes gain endurance, instead of use endurance when you use it. =)

In a Tank, I slot it for some taunt/recharge/end/acc/and a little bit of heal. It's a great way to alpha aggro. It makes DA more fun I think.
Your character does not have capped defense. Depending on your AT the cap is between 175% - 225%. Your defense is not teal in the combat window, it can go higher. STOP SAYING IT IS CAPPED! The correct term is Soft Cap.
I enjoy playing in Mids. I specialize in Melee Characters, other AT's usually bore me.
