Wow, that's some expensive stuff.

Here's my gal. You'll notice the odd levels on her enhancements as this is not a plan but an as-built. I'm planning on changing some things around, so this is not at all perfect.

That said, I think she cost less than 400m to make and her def is significantly better than the build you posted.

Note: if anyone would like to tell me what I need to do to optimize this, that's super cool. I just didn't want to ask about it since she functions just fine against anything that can't sap her defense.

EDIT: I think I've got my Lotus's slotting entered wrong, because that makes no sense.
DOUBLE-EDIT: It is entered wrong. The slotting is the same as in Flashing Steel.

I think Postagulous made a mistake by leaving Divine Avalanche off, contributing to your comments about yours being better (in reference to melee and lethal, anyway). If I copied everything down right, we can see that Postagulous is behind in ranged and AoE smashing, ahead in psionic, and way ahead in energy, negative, fire and cold. I believe that was the point being made. I don't think there's a lot of ranged and AoE smashing in the game (the vast majority is melee, like punches), so I'd MUCH rather go with what Postagulous has in the defense department. Also, the numbers are really more significant than they look there, as the closer you get to the soft cap, the more the percentages matter.

Trying to quantify the actual significance of the difference, if we assume equal survivability in all areas except for defense, my survivability spreadsheet says that Postagulous's defense profile should be 14% more survivable (able to survive 14% more incoming damage) on average. I'm also guessing that my spreadsheet is underestimating the difference, as I think it's currently giving too much weight to ranged and AoE smashing damage, but I haven't tried to "fix" the weightings for Smashing. I'm just using a flat 70% melee, 20% ranged 10% AoE across the board, which is a bit of an oversimplification.

Hrm. Okie, so if I get what you and Postagulous are saying, I'd be better off leaving the melee / smashing / lethal defense to Divine Avalanche, and concentrate on ranged / energy / negative / fire / cold in IO bonuses?

My big problem is obviously ranged/psi. Mu, some CoT, ect, can eat me for lunch. I keep my melee and lethal monitored and there's nothing like watching it go from +60ish to -40 in about two seconds.

I carry Hyperphase and run real fast.

CL, I'd suggest building for energy/negative defense, then fire/cold, and get as much melee lethal as possible after that. Most of your melee/lethal needs will be met by using divine avalanche, and most of the time, your regen and lethal resists will cover that anyway.

I wouldn't worry about smashing too much, as that will be covered in large part by melee defense - theres not a lot of aoe/ranged smashing to deal with, and the little that is, will be covered for the most part by your resists and regen anyway.

Your build is great and will be ridiculously survivable, but it could be made better if you focus more on energy/neg and fire/cold, even if you have to give up some melee, which could be covered by double stacking DA when necessary.

Yep! Not a HUGE difference overall, mind you. Not sure I'm sensitive enough to even notice. But it's there. I'm pretty sure sure I've seen people capping smashing and lethal too, but if there are trade offs to be made (there always are), I'd start with negative and energy, then fire and cold, then smashing and lethal last, because Divine Avalanche has you mostly covered in practice, even if you've got a "big" hole in theory.
