Hello Friends, old and new. Several months ago I found myself a little bored with CoX and decided to make a little sojourn to another MMO. After the annoyances of Mohawk granades, experiencing the "joy" of raiding and finding out the necessity of healers and tanks, I am happy to be back where I feel I belong amongst the heroes and villains of City of Heroes.
I have a newfound appreciation for the simplicity, albeit changed, market interface in this game and the seemingly infinitely more easily acquired rare items. It now seems all the more ridiculous to recall the complaints that purples are 'too rare' and that PVP IOs discriminate against the so-called casual player.
I've been back in the game for roughly a week and have already received a purple drop while amongst my favorite prey, the Rikti. I sold it for the going price of 200 million and don't have much planned to do with it just yet while I mull over what alt to create next.
I was a little sad to see that the AE mentality is still roaring as much as ever, but am pleased at the marketing opportunities it affords those of us who still enjoy playing the regular content of the game. The market never dies, commodity values just shift and you just have to have a little common sense to figure out where to.
Bottom line: It's good to be back and I look forward to getting back into the full swing of this game as I wait for Going Rogue to be released.
