My AE arc
Hi there!
I noticed you're getting a few hits to the thread but not any feedback, yet. While I've not had time to play much COH lately, and, honestly, I've not had the time to glance at the arc thanks to work, I felt I might be able to give a few suggestions here.
First off, what level ranges does your arc play in? Giving that information can help bring in a few players who might not be willing to try an arc "blind"; if they're the wrong level to play it, then they either will have to log out, change toons, and log back in, or they will find something else to play.
Also, what types of villains (or heroes) do you have your protagonists taking on? Some villain groups are pretty well loathed because of various factors--Malta for the Sappers and Gunslingers with their End Drain and hold attacks, Knives of Artemis for their Caltrops, and sometimes Winter Horde for all the slow attacks. Again, knowing what folks might be up against can help get some attention. If it's a custom group, then give the basic ideas behind that custom group in the thread--again, so folks know what kind of characters to run.
What are the power setups for the EB and the AV? EBs alone can be painfully tough to take down by any toons less than the mid-40s; AVs pretty much require heroes who know what they're doing and are used to working as a team.
Finally, do you have any particular allies or captives to rescue in this arc? Some folks simply refuse to play arcs that have such, simply because of the penalties allies put on experience gains and the negative Stealth hit that captives put on players.
I'm not trying to hurt any feelings or flame the thread or such. If you give some more information on these lines, though, you might JUST get some more responses into this thread--and hopefully great ones!
Good luck!
I'm out of signature space! Arcs by Tubbius of Justice are HERE: http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=218177
The EB is Axe/Invuln
The AV is DP/Radiation(he only has accelerate metabolism)
The enemies are not really crazy tough on lethal, even the EB has 20% res only.
There are no Ice or Radiation enemies (other than AV)
It is set to lvl 45 no matter what level you are(so foes don't hit as much and you still have all your set bonuses and attacks, I do realise Set Bonuses are always there.)
First mission there is a boss, defat all(in last room)
Second: Collection mission
Third: EB mission
Fourth: AV mission with some allies(all but 1 is not needed to be done to finish the mission)
Hi there GangstaBlade,
Many of the posters on this forum are particularly interested in the story within an arc. So saying more about the story would be good here. It doesn't really take any effort to look up at the Arc Description inside the game, but by the time the game launches they might not even remember the arc ID any more. So catch them with something catchy while they're still on this forum. Even an Arc Title would be good! But your details of the battle above gave me hope that you have paid attention to balance, despite the arc stating "EBs, AVs and custom enemies".
To Ruin no more, by @Dark Droid
"Apparently, there is a group of foes that focus on only ruining lives of innocent citizens. Heroes, we need to stop them. The citizens of Paragon City should be able to walk home alone at night without the thought that some fiend will take them away!"
(Beware of typos at this stage, I did corrections. A player might extrapolate typos to sloppy writing)
The story doesn't say any more than the average street encounter, but the title has me intrigued. Combining "Ruin" with citizens being taken away, it sounds perhaps like a Circle of Thorns story. But the primary villains for the four arcs are Custom.
The contact looks pretty cool. Detective Incharge. If you put a description of him in the "Contact Description" part of Story Settings, I'll be able to see that when I "Ask about contact".
Mission introduction - bad guys are described. Nothing specific about the bad guys. But they're definitely bad. Although I don't understand "they have people who will make you amputate." Perhaps they have people who will amputate my limbs? Why would they do that? Do we have any clue about these people at all? Strengths, weaknesses, motivations?
Send-off says "the target is a base-wipe" - presumably that doesn't involve toilet paper. It makes it sound like a kill-all. People don't like kill-all missions, because it is so easy to overlook just one well-hidden bad guy. But I like the way it's assumed that my victims will wake up in jail. Okay, so my nav tells me I only have to clear the last room. That's not how I'd describe a "base-wipe". I should have spotted the Defeat All element when I chose the arc.
OH! The mission has a time limit. You might like to save those for special occasions. You haven't given me any warning about the time limit in the mission introduction. I might have started the mission knowing that dinnertime would mean I have to pause halfway.
There's lots of custom critters. I really like the designs, the whipping one, the dual pistols one, the one with an axe. Very creative. It looks like a posse of supervillains. Unfortunately, the game mechanics will create duplicates when used as a group, so I have to wonder why there's duplicate villains. Perhaps there's a storyline explanation.
Sara has <br> break-strings in her dialogue. You can't do that in speech, they appear as "<br>".
Boss in first mission has multiple ambushes attached. I give up.
I guess this is a challenge mission. I brought the wrong hero for that, this one likes stories. I didn't get any sense of the story, so I gave up early. Perhaps you can do more to get a player hooked on the plot before you blow them away And play it through with various different heroes (tanks, blasters, controllers, more) to see how it plays.

Arc: 379017: Outbroken See all your old friends in the Outbreak Tutorial sequel!
Arc: Coming Soon: The Incarnate Shadow Shard of Fire and Ice Mender Rednem needs you!

well.....
I only have interest of playing arcs with scrappers, and the attention span to make a lvl 50 once in like a few months, so I doubt playing with a few different ATs is going to happen for a few years(I love scrappers! And don't understand how blasters stay alive!)
Basically, I will make the starting description correct-er, and I'll add in that it is MADE FOR TEAMS!
I made the starting mission ambushes to be there to help out the boss, the boss does not like being caught!
I don't see why I have to clarify why there are duplicates, in alot of the other game made enemy groups, they don't say why there are a ton of the same people.
Where it says <br>, that was a kind of error, like when I have the interrogation, I had it so every time a new person spoke, there would be a new line, but apparently the AE system doesn't like my formatting.
For the time limit. I had to make a time limit because they were packing up to leave, didn't the Detective in-change say that?
When I was making my custom critters, I based their costumes on my families design, I wondered one day (during a family party) how my family would make their characters, so on some server that I don't use, I got them to make one up. Then I based a few costumes on a bunch of their designs, the minion with the axe, everything but the axe was made by my one of my aunts.
In the first mission again, where it says defeat all, I wanted people to think that they had to destroy the entire base, but only the people in the last room to be a bit less annoying, but instead it gave away that and now it's seeming odd. I realise I gave away that the last room has the actual people that actually need to be defeated in last room, but it's not a real big problem.
Do you think that I should add more Custom dudes into the mix?
Do you think I should add some citizens being held captive in some missions?
Do any of you know a way to get rid of the part that says the objectives and makes it say what you want there? It will fix that problem there.
Thanks for attempting my Arc aswell!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi Gangsta. What Tubbius and Airhead are saying is completely true.
If I could make one suggestion to you (and just in general) your second post is a little too wall of textish. That is to say, it is difficult to read because of the lack of breaks between lines.
Enjoy your day please.
I am in the process of trying to make an AE arc, I don't spend the most time in AE so I don't have a good clue to how to make a good one, I have played normal arcs made by the game.
Could people try out my Arc(has 4 missions and has 1 EB and AV) and tell me how I could improve it, like adding more enemies or rewriting some stuff.
My arc number is: 416583
