Weird screenshot problem

I've been toying around trying to figure this out for a while but... I haven't really been able to.

Basically, the problem is that whenever I take a screenshot in the game (and ONLY City of Heroes) and paste it into something (like Paint), the pasted image is actually what was on the screen X seconds before I even pressed the button.

For example, if I log on and press Print Screen shortly after zoning in and then paste that into Paint, what I'll get is a screenshot of the loading screen... even though that's not what I took a screenshot of.

Yeah, it's not game breaking or anything, just annoying. Can anyone help me with this?

If it helps, I'm running Windows 7. I think I've heard CoH has problems with Windows 7, but I'm not sure.

Possible frame buffer issue. Basically, the video card's memory isn't flushing out properly so 'old' frames showing things you did previously are hanging around in video memory and I'd guess when the system requests a screenshot, that old data is getting passed instead of the current frame being displayed on your screen. A more usual symptom I've heard is old frames getting displayed briefly when exiting the game. Not really much you can do other than perhaps update video drivers and/or lower game settings. I thiink it is usually an indicator that you're taxing the card and it's thus having issues with clearing it's buffers in a timely manner.

It is known that there are an infinite number of worlds, simply because there is an infinite amount of space for them to be in. However, not every one of them is inhabited. Therefore, there must be a finite number of inhabited worlds. Any finite number divided by infinity is as near to nothing as makes no odds, so the average population of all the planets in the Universe can be said to be zero. From this it follows that the population of the whole Universe is also zero, and that any people you may meet from time to time are merely the products of a deranged imagination.

I believe it's caused by one of the buffers as well. I think either TheTelevision or Tex referred to it once as the "back buffer" or something similar.

A decent workaround for this is to use the Snipping Tool that was introduced in Windows Vista and is also in Windows 7.

If you have your Print Screen key mapped to take screenshots in CoH, those should be in your screenshots folder inside the game folder. The only exception is using it in the Character Creation or Icon screens. For those, the Snipping Tool works wonders.

If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.
