Memokit and the end of Lag

I have been suffering thru all of the rubber banding and lag of Issue 17 and having seen the creeping memory leak - I decided to try and fix this myself if possible. So I downloaded Memokit from www.cnet.com and so far - lag free!

I will let you know if any other issues arise.

Note to others. Do some research on the product before installing (let alone buying).

This program an be very much a YMMV thing.

On the CNET review page:

Some people report that it helps.
Others report that it eats more memory than it winds up freeing while not really assisting in speeding up system performance.
Others report that they're not getting unsolicited popups after installation.
And some report shady dealings with the parent company (no support for paid version, backup-copy CDs never sent, etc).

Not saying don't try the app. Just exercise due diligence.

Clicking on the linked image above will take you off the City of Heroes site. However, the guides will be linked back here.

I agree that if you aren't having trouble - I wouldn't try and fix it.

So far I have been playing hitch free - in fact better than for a very long time including pre-Issue 17.

If it isn't broke don't fix it - however if it is broke its worth a try - and for what its worth I have nothing to do with the program, just looking for a fix.

Update:

So far no issues - no lag, choppiness, rubberbanding or sound loops.

I understand your milage may vary but so far other than one random kick from the server - which is not unusual I have flawless play with Memokit installed on a Windows XP Pro setup.
