Coming back to the game after a long time, trying to remember how to play my def

As the topic says, I'm just coming back to this game after several months and am trying to re-learn everything (I was still pretty newb when I originally stopped, but I feel like I'm practically back at square one now!)

I've made some new characters to refamiliarize myself with the game, but I do want to pick up my old mains again - partly because to not do so would be a waste of the time I already invested in them, partly because I enjoy their concepts. Blueside, my main was a level 32 kin/electric def (redside was a thugs/pain mm in the late 20s if you care) and I've been playing around with him a bit but I really don't remember what I was doing or where I was going with him, so any help you guys can provide would be great.

Attached is his current build. I don't remember what order I bought the powers/slots in, I literally just opened his manage enhancements screen and copied down everything I saw into mids. Yes those are supposed to be level 35 IOs in every slot, I remember before I left spending a lot of time making a small fortune at wentworths then going on an inventing spree. I don't have any memory of what I was planning to do with this character in the future (hell, I don't even remember what TF or arc or whatever I was going to do next!) and I don't remember enough to figure out a build on my own, so again anything you guys can figure out about where to take this character (and suggestions on how to start playing him effectively again) would be really really helpful.

This build is solid, I wouldnt worry too much about improving it at this level.
Maybe respec'n stamina out now that you have transference,
But its pretty much how id build a kin/elec.
I might drop accrobatics for another attack but its not a BAD build by any stretch of the imagination.
Play it and have fun. Thats about the best advice I can give you.

The following is fairly close to my own Kin/Electric with the exception of travel powers.
I went with Recall Friend/Teleport/Hover and somewhere between 10-35 I also took Increase Density for teaming.

Your build is solid, with alot more emphasis on Accuracy than mine. I usually stick with just 1 ACC IO until I can get Set IOs and global bonuses into a build, but personal preference should rule when talking about Accuracy.
The very first power that I went after IOs was Transfusion. As you can see it benefits very much by slotting IOs and well worth the cost to do so as soon as possible.
My Kinetic/Electric does pretty well on a team, although he can be quite busy throwing out SB, ID and Transfusion/Transference/FS. I can take the same build out for solo work and do fairly well depending on the enemies. I recommend getting more slots into Tesla Cage since this power is your main pre-emptive control when solo. The longer it lasts, the better off you are against villains with nasty mezz effects.

You're doing fine.

If you get bored between missions and want to improve the build even further, look for deals on "frankenslotting" IOs. These are cheap (often very cheap) IOs that combine the enhancement types you want without regard to collecting sets or getting set bonuses. Mixed enhancement type IOs get a bonus, so you come out significantly ahead, as long as you can benefit from the multiple enhancement types. Siphon Speed, Tesla Cage, and Voltaic Sentinel, in particular, will be easy to find cheap Slow, Hold, and Pet/R.I.Pet set IOs for.

You're unfortunately going to be a debt magnet when soloing, until you pick up something like Mass Hypnosis. Your kill speed should be good enough to erase the occasional debt hit, but if you feel you're getting too much debt, try Hover. By hovering a little bit above enemies' heads, you're still in range for Transfusion, Short Circuit, etc., but out of reach of melee. This also encourages melee mobs to bunch together at the point on the ground closest to you, thanks to their dumb AI, perfect for catching them all with your AoEs.

Thanks for the responses so far, it is reassuring to know I was doing well, but maybe I wasn't very clear in my first post on what it is I really need help with. My biggest problem is that I haven't the foggiest idea where to go from here because I don't remember anything about where I was eventually headed with this build. If I was to level up right now, I wouldn't be able to place my three slots because I have no clue whatsoever where they are needed and what to put in them. I have no idea what power I was going to take at 35, much less the whole rest of the way to 50. If I had to advance this character now it would literally be by guessing....so I need some help extrapolating this build forward.

I remember I had both IR and ID at one point but respec'ed out of them. I don't remember why I did or if I was going to buy them again. I don't remember why I got Stamina when Transference already means I don't need to keep cabs in my inspiration tray - or if Transference only keeps me going indefinitely because I have stamina. I don't even remember for sure which APP I was going to use - I think it might have been Power Mastery but I really just don't know. I don't remember if I wanted to draw from a fourth pool for something. Was I going to go sentinel->thunderous blast -> epic powers? Was I going to take some Leadership to provide even more to the team? Where do my remaining slots go and what goes in them? Maybe a res? What sets will I eventually be using - and would I be aiming at frankenslotting for big numbers (I think I remember that being a way around enhancement diversification, right?) or are there set bonuses that I need? Should I be trying to get perma-hasten? I don't even remember if hasten affects it's own recharge or not!

tl;dr - it's cool he's good now but what next?

I'd go 35 Increase Density, 38 Thunderous Blast. My slots would go into Tesla Cage (enough to hit and get a decent hold duration), then Fulcrum Shift, then ID and Thunderous Blast when I take them, with leftovers going to Charged Bolts.

Consider dropping ID and SB from your second build for soloing or for whenever you don't feel like being a buffbot. Or adding both ID and SB to your second build when your team desperately needs a buffbot. Either way, at least one of your builds should have ID for those occasional situations like extreme high damage smashing/energy AVs/GMs (Scirocco on MoSTF runs, much less ouchness), or team setups where teammates without mez protection are taking aggro. (Aggro-teflon coated scrapper instead of a tanker + ID = no problem. Newbie tanker who didn't take Unyielding + ID = no problem. Long TF full of squishies + ID = no problem.)

41 and onward depends on which APP you like.
