18-man Villain Hamidon (Proof of Concept) Raid

Today we pulled off an 18-man proof of concept raid villainside. Proof of concept meaning that we cleared 1 bloom and proceeded to spawn the second bloom (doing all 4 would had taken too long and some of us need to work in the morning), so given enough time we could complete the raid. This was our very first attempt at such a feat and we were pleasantly surprised at the result. After a couple of really bad entries and strategy adjustments, we were able to down the mito's with minimal casualty. People who participated in the raid are (in alphabetical order by global):

Revenant Commander @Arachnos Commander
Private Misery @Blazing Tiger (Not pictured/had to leave early)
Nexus Project @Elric
Dam Skippy @Garcia Vega
Real Man of Genius @Huron
Avaritia @Impyre
Lyrina Kyton @Ivansshade
A. Muck @Kegan
Red Spawn @kidengineer
Killer Psi Master @Magnum the Menace
Bounty-Killer @Major T
Yessu @Nomme
Rebal Gamer @Rebal Gamer
Sadistic Sam @Sammy Davis Jr
Joss @Sarabande
Excruciatrix @Sooner
Raelith @StormVyxen
Heart-Break @Trickshooter

Some of us brought second toons in to TP out in case of a wipe and to hole additional EoEs. Congratulations to everyone who participated. I do not know if this is a first or not. But it is still a substantial victory regardless. I'm sure others have more screenshots to add to this. But here are a few:

Hami is served.

Clearing the greens.

Green targeted.

Group picture before we spawn the bloom.

The assault begins.

Bloom, but we're fighting Hami to the last man.

Impyre is the last man standing.

The rest of the screenshots can be found here.

I have never complained while in a raid. I have given my all to the success of every one I have been on.

I suppose this is the caliber of attitude I'll be having to deal with from here on out in regards to these things.

And by adjustments, there was just one as seen in the 5th pic. Spirit Tree for the win every time.

Well done everyone, was fun.

It's all about that spirit tree. It was a lot of fun, i'm sure with a few more practice runs will get him down.

This proof of test proves what a small group of dedicated people can accomplish. It further proves that if such a small group can accomplish it, a larger group should be able to do so with less trouble.

I know of a small group of Hamidon Raid team leaders with a sound and proven strategy that only requires capable teammates to make the raid successful.

I would enjoy seeing different people step up to lead the various teams, with assistance from a veteran leader if necessary... kind of like the passing of the torch. I (and I know most of the other leaders I know Kidengineer, WoefulKnight, Sooner, Elric, Vega, Impyre, etc.) would love to see others get involved in the various leadership roles and pass on the knowledge that they've acquired.

The more people that are knowledgeable; The more often these raids can occur; the better for the Protector community as a whole.

From the one team pic I can see, was the raid 75+% corruptors?
Not that it matters or takes away from the feat, but just wondering.

7 out of that 18 are corruptors.
We wouldn't have enough melee for the yellow mito's if we have 75%+ corruptors. You need a balance of ATs for it to work.

Trust me, it was very frustrating until we figured out something that works. We died ... A LOT! but we were coordinated, commited and communicating. It was a strategy test. It has been determined that we cannot rely on doing it the way that we have been because we don't get the numbers. A new way has to be found. Honestly, we WANT villain side raids.

I hope you still come out for the raid.

The Hamidon Raid has been a gruesome grind since its inception, complete with large body counts on the side of the perpetrators, but I still like going because I like being a part of such a collective effort. It's refreshingly contrary to my normally solitary nature. I would have liked to be a part of the process to find a new method, but somehow it's been misconstrued that I have a lack of faith in the leadership of the raid.

I never spoke ill of the strategies or the people running it. Just the methods chosen to recruit and the irrational apparent stigma our server has against Redside.

I should make mention here what bothers me about some of the negative reputation I receive...

The Negative Reps I put on display are all shots from the dark. I'm fine with a person having a negative opinion of me. However, I'm being lashed at by a person (or people) who wishes for me to not know their identity. The lines they give me are ludicrous or insipid (or sometimes seem like relentless hounding).

If I feel the message bears merit, I consider it and think on it. If it's stuff like what I received above, a strike to my reputation simply because the event "was invite only," then I feel like I've been giving an egregious slight. There was no need to strike me for a simple correction.

See, that is one of the problems that new people have with Hami. Once theystart dying a bit, they get frustrated lose interest and we end up with a cluster fu## of a raid. The reason for people losing interest, is the waiting time before starting.

Basically, this was a test to see what we could accomplish with as few people as possible. The goal is to to use the information to make Villain Hami raids possible on a predominately Hero server.

Now that we have a strategy to Hami down with minimal people and minimal deaths, hopefully, we will never have to cancel a raid again due to lack of bodies.

Personally I enjoyed trying this. Course I enjoy dealing with things that are just plain hard. That's why I married a redhead. *ducks and covers, she does read the forums at times*

Seriously, I had fun and was part of something new for this server at least, heck I even stole Sooner's group pic for my wallpaper, turned out much better then mine did. Thanks for including me all, it's been fun starting to get to know you all these last few months

I am confident the villain side can down hami on a regular basis. The strat is solid, and with more people I think it can be even more fluid.

I would be so bold to say that an entire bloom could be cleared in one cycle.

Assuming I am around I would be happy to lead a group. I think I know enough that I am capable of the task.

Was a lot of fun that was for sure.
