Input Lag v. 2.0

Okay, new problem has surfaced.

Now running at any graphics except absolute minimum, the game doesn't register my input for a few seconds.

Example of the typical scenario:
I boot up the updater, no problems. Fast. Load to the Log-In screen, no problems. Fast. Log in, go to Character screen. Framerate drops dramatically for a few seconds, then averages out to about 20fps. I move my mouse over to the character I want to play, mouse moves steadily, no lag, works great. When I hover over the character, it takes it a second to light up and register that I'm hovering over it. I click on the character, it takes it a second to select the character. etc.

Does that with every interface in-game.

Here's my HelperLog

Looks like you're running on 197.16, I've installed Driver Version 195.81 for my friend's laptop (ASUS G72, exact same specs as yours) since the NVidia advisory came out about new versions of the driver causing overheat problems... Anyhoo, give that driver a spin, and see if it works better.

Edit: Also, there is a BIOS issue identified with that particular laptop, where the gameplay FPS on most titles drops to 1-2 FPS on it's RTM BIOS. Read more about it here: http://news.cnet.com/8301-17938_105-10278100-1.html If you've never used ASUS Live Update to flash your BIOS at least once after buying it, you should do so.

Bleh. Tried both. Seemed to be going fine in RV until I rotated my camera underneath my character to catch a flier. Then it kicked back in. Checked my GPU temp and it was at 100' C... >_>

And actually, after it all, all of my components are running much hotter.

Anyone else have any ideas? I'm about ready to just call ASUS and see what they say.

well after the 4/22 patch i'm still getting the input lag issue

Where you come from, is gone,
Where you thought you were going to, was never there,
Where you are ain't no good, less you can get away from it.

Patch on test...?

Regardless, the laptop is being sent to ASUS for free diagnostics and repair...
