Ok lol, also i followed the advice from http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=120140
and done what it said but when i launch it with -test at the end on a shortcut it doesn't come up with the test server news page it comes up with the same one as the normal COH (idk if its different in the USA), is it supposed to do that too?

The "screen" will look identical.
Take a look at THIS line however, it should say this:
As long as it says "Coh Test" you have the test server.
If it just says "Project City of Heroes", you did something wrong.
I take it that you're connecting to the EU test server, from that comment?
Anyway, somewhat beside the point - if memory serves, edit the shortcut you're using for test, put quotes around everything that's there and then add -test after a single space after the final quote mark. Dunno why, but that's what mine shows.
Also, if my assumption about which test server you're accessing is correct, make sure that anything you have points to cohupdater.eu.exe (if you do not have that file, copy cohupdater.exe and edit the copy so it's called that).
I'm sure there are more technical minds than I who can answer, and probably will explain why everything I've just said is wrong, but the above works for me.

i followed some advice a friend gave me on how to download the test server, like copying the whole COH across to another folder and let updaterPatch it up instead of downloading the whole game, but all it does is fix the files and is taking forever at 29k/sec... 8hrs it says it will take... can anyone helpor is it supposed to fix the files?
