I'm sorry, Fire/** does not lend itself to a defensive build. You can use all of the usual methods, Reactive Armor, Smashing Haymaker, Kinetic Combat, etc but Fire/** does not have any inherent Defense to build on.
As far as I've been able to tell, the advice with Fire/** is to boost HPs and Recharge and power-through on Healing Flames.

Anyone have an example of a good Fire/EM build. My friend wants me to help him out. He wants to be be able to have some decent defense which he feel he is lacking in (If thats possible)
