Neophyte Question About MA
Your files are stored locally but you can copy/paste them to a thumbdrive for transport between your computers. Where ever your CoH files are stored, you want the Missions, Custom_Critter, and CustomVillainGroup folders and their contents.
People don't get a pared down version of the arc when it's published. All of the enemy info is stored in the *.storyarc file. Problem is that editting, even if it's published, checks your local files for enemy groups. You might accidentally delete your progress if you try editting on different computers without local backups.
Oh I see. Thank you very much. I can't be botherd to transfer the files though as it will give me a chance to redo some of my arcs which I will have to do again when Going Rogue (the reason I bought a new computer in the first place) comes out to take advantage of the doubling of the story arc memory! :eyeroll:
I've been playing around with MA for a while now and have had a lot of fun filling 5 out of 8 of my story arc slots but they are nothing to brag about compared to what I've seen others do and I don't think I really have a deep understanding of all the mechanics involved with this kind of player generated content.
Recently I got a new computer and discovered that while using it that many of my custom characters have vanished out of the MA editor and from my published arcs. I had one arc where all the minions and LTs from a custom group disappeared but the bosses remained. This leads me to conclude that since a lot of the custom character files are stored locally on my computer that other people playing my arcs when I'm not logged into the game must get a very pared down version of my arcs. Is this correct? And if so, is there anyway to get around this problem? Thanks for any information you can provide.
