PrtScr not working any more

I can't get the PrtScr function to work properly in-game any more. *Something* of the right size gets saved to the paste buffer, but when viewed, the image is completely black. I've tried activating it with both <Ctrl><PrtScr> and <Shift><PrtScr> . I used to be able to do this, but I don't know when it stopped working. I've tried to view it with both IrfanView and OpenOffice Draw. It could have stopped working after installing my HD monitor, or perhaps after a windows update. I don't remember when the last time I used PrtScr successfully from within CoH.

Here's some specs:

* CoH in full screen mode, native resolution
* LG 24" display at 1920x1080 resolution
* NVidia GeForce 9500 GT video card
* GeForce video: 196.21 (8.17.11.9621)
* Microsoft Windows Vista Home Edition Service Pack 2 (Build 6002)
* DirectX 10.0 (6.0.6000.16386)

I have no problem using <Ctrl><PrtScr> to capture and view my 1920x1080 desktop. Does anyone have any idea what the problem might be?

I assume you're trying to use Print Screen to snag an image in the character creator or the character select menu?

I just hit the Windows key to bring up the Start Menu, THEN hit Print Screen. You can crop out the Start Menu from the left side of the screen afterwards--all the interesting stuff in on the right side of the screen anyway.

Thanks for the excellent help, guys. I went with the Snipping Tool; it works great and allows me to pre-crop the part I actually want. (And <blush>, I didn't even know it was there.)

I wanted the capture so I could brag about My First Twenty-Two. Without it, I would have no proof.
