Store Assets or Liquidate?

The easiest time to summon the patience to maximize your sale profits is when you don't need the inf for anything specific. I would craft and list them all at the high end of their price range and then forget about them. Down the road when you decide to kit out a new bulid that pile of cash will seem almost like found money.
I don't have a character that I currently have any interest in rebuilding to include purple sets...however, over the course of the past few weeks I've amassed a sizable collection of purple recipes (around 20 or so).
Is there more value in trying to sell these recipes at a premium price or do you believe there will be more value in holding on to them? |
To the OP, I tend to sell craft and then sell whatever high-end recipes I come across. I do this because - generally speaking - if I'm patient enough, I can get the recipe on the market at a price that's low enough to warrant selling what I picked up as a drop. And if it turns out to be a bad idea? Ah well, I'll just squish some more mobs till I can afford what I want again!
My point is that I don't really understand the intensity of the arguments around here sometimes. Sure, I can get being frustrated that you can't get what you want, but at the same time...no one's going to foreclose on your home if you can't get that purple recipe. No one's going to repossess your car. No one's child will go hungry if Dad can't afford that crafted Numina's. So I have a difficult time getting worked up about inflation and Video Game Capitalism because...it doesn't actually affect anyone's lives in the same ways that real world economies do.
Comparing the mechanics and the theories makes some sense to me, but I think it tends to be limited in its effectiveness.
And that's my Internet Musing for the day.
