Black Login Screen

Hi, so I wanted to return to CoH after a very long hiatus. I finished downloading and installing everything last night. This morning I hop on, and see that the screen goes black shortly after the loading bar fades in. It loads for a second then I hear the login screen music. My mouse switches to the CoH cursor, and the screen remains black.

After a lot of research, I've uninstalled and reinstalled to the latest graphics drivers. I already did a check last night on "Can You Run It" to see if my computer was able to take on CoH, which I pass the minimum & recommended specs (aside from having win7) easily.

I've tried various combinations of compatibility/no compatibility/run as administrator/turning off visual theme options.

I've added in commands onto the target line. I've even created a bat file to stop explorer, start coh, run explorer again (a trick to fix graphic issues in starcraft). This actually only worked up until I hit the login screen, but it loaded more like one would expect.

Thanks for any help you can provide :|

About the uninstalling and reinstalling of the video drivers, where are you getting the drivers from? Are you getting them from Dell? Intel? Windows Updates?

Also, your C: and D: drives are extremely low on disk space. Windows starts having problems with some functions when you get below ~20% free space. Since CoH is on the C: drive, it's especially significant.

Post a log from running HijackThis. This will show what else is going on on your computer while you are playing CoH.

If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.
