Free Weekend: Worth returning?
ok im in the same boat as you i have 21 months but i have been playing since early 2005 like jan 05 but most of the time i left i stopped because of money only twice did stop for other reasons one of those was i got bored that was around the first time i started playing just got bored at the time i only had villains. the 2nd time i quit was because I wore myself out i was trying to make the best bulid i could with the right IO and all that so i just ened burning my self out. the last time i quit beacue of money i really wanted to RP but nobody realy did in Liberty so when server transfer came out i moved here and been loving it ever since RP is the way to go and to me at least keeps the game fresh and exciting hope that help maybe in some way
Unfortunately, it seems to be a moot point. Despite being on the same computer that I last played the game on, I seem to be having a strange graphical error on my new monitor. From the time that the game loads the login screen, everything has a green tint. I've messed with the graphics settings in game and the various ways that Vista allows a program to run.
Not really willing to hook up another monitor or change my settings in general for one game, so..
I bought CoH when it was first released in 2004. Since, I have logged about 18-24 months of played time on two separate accounts. In other words, I've always been an on-again, off-again player. The content of the game has always felt a bit "blah" to me, but there was always a better community to be found in CoX than anywhere else in the world of MMO's.
That said, I'm bored by most of the other games on the market that I have tried. I'm just waiting for the expansion in my old mainstay, and Champions lacks the connected feel that I have always found to be present in CoH. However, I'm curious, has CO stolen any of CoX's fire? I'm interested in the expansion, but I don't want to return to a game that's lacking the elements that have helped me to enjoy it in the past.
So, how is it? I know the free weekend will give me a cross-section to look at, but you more loyal Virutue-ites are sure to have a better feel than anyone as to the liveliness of the game.
