Unusual perspective

Anyone who has Paulo Barrios on deviantArt watch may have already seen a version of this. His original version had Desmodas in a very green costume. While I thought it looked really good, I felt it really wasn't a Desmodas color. At my request, he adjusted the colors for this darker version.

The perspective of this piece seems to throw people, myself included. I flipped around a few times but ultimately I really liked it.

I love the angle of the view here... I usually tend to love odd perspectives or major use of foreshortening or anything of the kind. Though I have next to none of my own arts like that... Hmmm, something to work on...

Anyway, great art and a definite + to my watch list!!

The green color does look awesome... But hey, if it doesn't fit your character it doesn't. *shrug* Still looks awesome in black

That is a great piece Des.
The one thing that is a little unclear to me (it's visible in the really large version) at this size, is Des's right arm.
There is a lot of black/dark gray that makes it tricky to follow and the powers fx at the hands adds a bit to the confusion.
GW has that teal color on bother her hands but Des has pink/purple on one hand and blue/white on the other... is she meant to wield a different power in each hand?

I do see the claw fingers sticking up but her arm almost looks like it's trapped between GW legs (which works fine as well but I don't think it's intended). Her shoulder being in front of GW is more visible in the green version but I can understand green not being a "Des color" but going with a darker color the piece may need some more contrast in a few places to compensate so it still reads clearly.

Perhaps, as a suggestion, a sheen line (like the ones on GW calves) running along GW's thigh that ends at Des's shoulder then reappears at GW's knee. Having a broken white line will clearly show that there is something there in front of her leg. Otherwise some of the teal fx reflecting off GW's thigh might do it too. The white light is reflecting off her (latex?)suit but all the effects are only visible in the air.

It's a beautiful piece either way and will make a great addition to your gallery.

For what ever reason, I interpreted Desmodas right arm as being restrained/affected by GW. Hence the discoloration not only of her powers but her entire fore arm, as seen in both versions of the piece.

I can't tell from your post if it's clear that I was not the artist.

I do think Paulo Barrios tried to reconcile some choices since both GW and Desmodas have so much black in their costumes. I was planning on getting several Desmodas vs Ghost Widow pieces done by various artists, but black on black color scheme presents lots of problems.

Yeah it can certainly be a challenge.
I am aware you are not the artist... I clicked into the large version to view it up close so if I didn't already know that would have told me. I am just mentioning the suggestion to you cuz, well he's not here.
Yeah I am familiar with Paulo Barrios and have had him on watch since I saw his take on Invincibelle.

I can't tell you how many times I've had to explain I can't draw.

On a more selfish note, you still taking reference shots for 40 in 60?
