I need to create a timer for the Mission Architect. Something that will take between 30 and 90 seconds to auto-complete. Is there a Mission Architect document out there somewhere with how to create a timer?

lowest timer is 5 minutes.

i think in mission details there is a drop down that asks you if it is a timed mission.

The only "timer" that you can set in an AE mission is the "mission timer" aka how long the players have to complete the mission or how long it takes for a click item to complete interaction.
There are no "time" event triggers.

The closest thing you can really get to this is a boss being defeated. You could possibly put a Patrol near a Boss that was able to beat the boss - then hinge the triggering of one of those two events on some player action or even the start of the mission. You could then use hp loss levels or defeat to trigger one or more event.
I haven't tested to see if the completion of Battles can be used as triggering an event, that might be another option.
At least that's my best guess at an attempt. Of course, none of that can be used for an exact amount of time. I doubt that they could be completed within 30-60 seconds - possibly a boss being injured to 3/4 health which can be used for an event trigger.
So you could set up this kind of thing in the back of the mission to go on while players are still in the front part of the mission.

No I want something that will automatically complete itself so I can use it as a timer to trigger other events. So if I want to have an ambush 90 seconds after a boss is defeated I would have the boss defeat create the timer event and then when the timer event completes then I can use that to trigger another event.

I am trying to create something like the Croatoa mission with the waves of Pumpkins or the Terra Volta Respec waves of bad guys

I have found stuff that auto-completes immediately which allows you to create super ambushes but I want my groups to spawn with time to recover.

A workaround might be to have the ambushes spawn from the front o it takes time to get to the players if the boss is at the back.


I don't suffer from altitis, I enjoy every minute of it.

I am going to write up a suggestion and see if anyone likes it. If this would put into the game then people could create some very fun adventures. You could create the Nemesis invasion recreating the waves of attackers with one of the missions. You could create the Fifth column invasion or even script out your own Rikti Invasion.

Waves of attackers would be a brute's dream come true. However, given that similar abilities to do similar things have been removed from AE due to the possibility of farming, I don't see this happening, even if it's ridiculously fun.

I loved wading through hundreds of mobs on my brutes.

Sure, the squishies screamed in terror, but meh...they shoulda rolled a broot.
