hola, hmm well, ill just start off saying that i have Controller Experience, but i have never touched a Mine Control Set, or let alone, Cold Domination. I just made one last night, hes level 4 now lol. I like him so far, and i think im gunna get along with him very nicely considering what i did today with him. Anyways, since i never rarely play with any Mind controllers, or Cold Domination Def/Trollers, i was wondering how do they work, whats the best, who do i confuse first, who i terrify, etc etc, for the Cold Domination, i know what powers i need and ones i dont, i just need help slotting it, same with Mind, i have no clue how to slot this character. The pool powers im thinking of taking is Fitness, for Hurdle, Health and Stamina. Speed for Hasten, and maybe Superspeed, with Leadership for Manuavers and Tactics. for the 4th, i dunno, between Teleportation for Recall Friend, or Teleport, or go with Fly for Hover/Fly... Im a Team player, but i like to solo, cuz most of the time, i have no one to play with.. I Dont do PVP, only PVE, just throwing that out there.. i be willing to take any suggestions/hints/tiips, anything which would help me be apperciated..thx everyone in advance..

I have a mindcontrol/kin and an Ice/cold fender.

Although I can't offer the best advice on this forum, here's my humble opinion:

-Damage issue: I have problems doing much solo damage with either MC or /cold, so you may want to consider slotting a few key powers like mesmerize and dominate with dmg procs

-Endurance: ice/cold powers eat a lot of blue, plus with the weak dmg done by your main (MC), you'll have to do a lot of power spamming to solo, which also eats blue. Might want to slot a few end redux throughout

-Stealth: Arctic Fog is a great stealth power. That plus super speed means you don't need to dip into the stealth pool at all. That is, if you like to be stealthy

-Teaming: imho, mindcon + cold makes for a great team player. You have good crowd control with the MC and awesome debuffs/slows with cold. As for soloing, you'll probably have to tinker around with different power pools to up the dmg. Maybe take the fire epic.

Triumph Lurker: mintmiki 50 emp/archer
basically, if you see a miki on Triumph, it's probably cute and it's probably me.

Huge thanks to cuppamanga and all the folks in the mac help forum for prolonging my borrowed time on this game.

I like it.

Here is the build I use at 50. Not perfect, but not too bad either IMO. You would probably want something a little different for leveling up.

This character is my "Task Force buster." He stealths, he teleports, he can grab glowies undetected, he can debuff the end boss. I've gotten more merits on him than any other Controller. He is also the only character I've been able to successfully protect a team against an army of +6 enemies with, mostly due to unlimited chances to reroll missed Confusions.

[EDIT: Just realized I lied about actually having the purple hold set in Total Dom. It's frankenslotted at the moment.]

I just rolled mine and will be leveling him up as soon as I hit 50 with my Traps/Ice defender. I used to play mind controllers a lot. The set is a great solo'er and you can safely handle two bosses at once from a very low level with the combination of Mesmerize, Levitate and Dominate. Add in Confuse and you can lock down three. I've been able to take down multiple +2 bosses at level 12, which ain't shabby.

However, I've stopped playing Mind controllers due to the fact that mass containment, and thus real mass damage, can't easily be accomplished by Mind controller on a regular basis. TK is an option for that, but the endurance costs are prohibitive.

Enter /Cold. I'm thinking that when you get slotted Heat Loss you'll be able to run TK quite a bit to keep containment on multiple enemies, allowing Mind controllers to have the ability to get multiple contained AoE attacks off in a fight. Combined with Sleet, an APP AoE and Terrify it means some fairly significant AoE damage going out.

Pretty much what Mintmiki said but with proper frankenslotting you wont have that much endurance issues well i have some now but thats mostly because of assult an could bbe remedied if i stop being cheap and add a couple of +end and recovery bonuses. My pve build has fitness/speed/teleport/leadership.

DAmage is pretty low so soloing is bit slow for me(personal opinion). I went for Mental epic for IW, the extra ST attack and the large radius aoe.

I would slot for recharge, some recovery and +hp.

Also the wait for sleet is sooooo looong

The key to doing damage with a mind controller, at least early on, is to take mesmerize, levitate and dominate then slot them up for damage as quickly as possible. Try to get 4-5 slots in all 3 powers and at the DO stage slot 1 accuracy in each of mesmerize and dominate, 2 accuracies in levitate and the rest damage. Then take mass hypnosis and get 2-3 slots in it for 2 accuracies and 1 recharge (at the DO level) - if you can, 4 slots is nice as well so you can get a couple of recharges. I would also recommend confuse for an extra single target control and those mobs that are hold resistant (like lost bosses). If you have access to Mr. Yin's store in faultline and you are a natural or mutant origin you can buy and slot damage SO's at L10 (he sells L13, 17 and 21 SO's, one type for each origin). After you get to 22 and can slot SO's I would suggest frankenslotting the 3 main attacks with ranged damage sets as even at this point damage is more important than control. At higher levels you can slot dominate with 4 Lure of the basilisks for the recharge bonus and slot 2 high level damage IO's.

The best tactics solo are to open with mass hypnosis on larger groups (3+ minions) to get initial lock down and avoid the alpha. Then put a longer sleep on one target with mesmerize, move on to the next target with dominate, levitate and then mezmerize and keep cycling between targets like that until they are all down. The base duration of mesmerize and confuse are long enough you don't need to enhance them and while the hold duration on domination isn't that long you only need it to last long enough to levitate and then mesmerize the target back into sleep. On smaller groups (lone LT or LT+Minion) sleep one target, dom + lev + mez the second until dead, then switch back to the first.

At higher levels what is going to bite you with a mind controller is lack of a pet and AE containment. You will need to take mass domination and mass confusion, slot them for as much recharge as possible AND get as much global recharge as possible. Then you can alternate mass hypnosis and mass domination for AE containment, use terrify and an attack from one of the epic pools for AE damage and alternate mass confustion and mass domination but you probably won't have good AE containment except for the first attack in every fight since your AE sleep will only last for one attack.
