How to remove the badge showing under my name and replace with...nothing?

Click the badges tab on the navigation bar. Button is on the bottom left "Clear Badge Title".

If that doesn't work (because sometimes the "Clear Badge Title" button is disabled) just use the plain /settitle command.

Badging character: Bimble on the Union server, Badgehunter.com and City Info Tracker.
I have a character who has been sporting a badge for some time. I would like to switch to NO badge showing. How can I do that?
