Is there anything on or next to the wall where the editor is trying to put a doorway connecting the two rooms?
The editor won't let you drop in a room in if there's anything interfering with doorways.

Off the entrance I have a Secure Teleport Chamber going one way and a workshop going the other. When I try to place another room off the entrance in another direction it doesn't allow me to. There is ample grid going that way; as I upgraded the plot size. Can't the entrance be the center of your base with rooms coming off all 4 sides?
