Need Help from someone with Mids
Sorry, I've had some overwhelming things happen to me lately (today being no exception), and thus have not had as much time as I would like to have had to spend on the boards. I won't go into detail about it, but suffice it to say that not having a job for a long, long, long time (and not for any lack of looking for one) had something to do with it.
I think the human-only guide for Warshades would be entirely too long if I had posted the long-form version of all 11 or so builds--especially since I've been working on not only updating/expanding the warshade section, but also expanding the guide to include human-only Peacebringer play...
That said, now that I have a tiny bit of time, I'm more than happy to post builds 2 and 4.

It's important to note that my warshade is no longer currently running the build slotting that I mentioned in the guide, due to recently acquired knowledge of procs--regardless of cheap build or not, which is one of the main reasons I need to update/expand the guide.
I'll also give you a "cheap version" build of the slotting that's actually on my warshade right now, so you can see the difference in the "leadership" builds then and now:

No worries. hope things work out for you on the job front.
I am a big fan of the leadership pool, brings a lot to teams and is so much fun when there are multiples stacking.
On the cheap version of your current build, I had two questions:
Why did you opt for Gravimetric snare--do you really use it that often?
On Dark Extraction, lots of people say if you only have the one resist or def aura for pets that it doesn't do much, do you find that it is worth it over the other set piece (I forget which is the other option)? I know you're really going for the set bonus, but in terms of getting bang for the buck...
"Hmm, I guess I'm not as omniscient as I thought" -Gavin Runeblade.
I can be found, outside of paragon city here.
Thank you everyone at Paragon and on Virtue. When the lights go out in November, you'll find me on Razor Bunny.
I opted for Gravimetric snare after experimentation with slotting proc IOs, and so I 5-slotted the Gravitational Anchor purple set in there (including the 33% chance to hold one), as well as putting the Devastation Chance to Hold in there. More often than not, I'll see a hold pop off on a boss that I use that power on, especially if I use Gravimetric snare in rapid succession with Gravity Well (a hold power in and of itself, as well as having a Lockdown Chance to hold in it). That means using Gravimetric Snare and Gravity Well in rapid succession will have no less than three chances to hold working together with Gravity Well's own Mag 3 hold... I haven't come across a boss yet that can't be held, and that includes the Cimeroran bosses. A hell of a lot of damage mitigation if you ask me--especially if your eclipse has dropped, and you're only fighting "that one boss" left from a mob you just took down. It provides you just enough damage mitigation to prevent having to activate Eclipse again until you reach the next full mob.
On the Dark Extraction question...
I say any resistance is better than no resistance. As a side note, the Sovereign Right resistance IO actually has a larger resistance area covered than Expedient Reinforcement's resistance aura. Therefore, if I weren't building for global recharge, and I had the choice between the sets, I'd actually go for the Sovereign Right set for the larger resistance AoE. However, this being a Kheldian, I went for the set that provided me more global recharge.
Now, on my ACTUAL build (the more expensive one) that's running right now on Alien, I opted for the Soulbound Allegiance set, but still kept the resistance bonus, because let's face it... 10% extra resistance may mean 1 more shot my pet can pull off before he goes down for the count. And that 1 more shot may be the difference between whether or not I can provide enough damage (in an extreme situation) to survive.
In my opinion, a Warshade's best means of damage mitigation (besides his various little tools and IOs you can use to hold/stun) is to take a mob down before they can take him down. That's why you build for global recharge (and in my case, damage bonuses) on a Warshade.
Here's what is actually running on Alien set-wise (notice I actually have BOTH resistance IOs in there...It's no Eclipse hit on a full mob, but 20% resistance in every category is better than 0% resistance in every category!):

*EDIT*
Also worth noting that there are level 40 IOs in this build.... I built this build to be exemp-able to level 40+ without losing any enhancement for a power. My tri-form shade build is built to be exemp-able all the way down to the Positron TF without losing a single enhancement for a power. Anytime I play level 15-39 content, I play my tri-form build, and any time I play level 40+ content, I use my human-form build--with a few exeptions (tanking the last mission on an STF, for example).
Here's how I have my tri-form build set up on AlienOne:

Quick questions on your active build:
From what I understand the level of the IO only matters for the set bonus. The scaling down that happens to the actual % enhancement is unaffected by the level of the IO (except insofar as the original numbers are concerned). In that sense, shouldn't all of your generic IOs be level 50s so the highest possible value gets preserved?
Second, on Haste. With as much global recharge as you have, does the third slot actually give you any benefit? After ED kicks in and with level 50 IOs, that third slot is barely contributing anything even with no global recharge. I forget but I think it only makes a couple second difference. With a lot of global recharge I'm not sure it matters at all. Have you compared using two IOs and seeing how it will work for you? I'm always curious about this question in real numbers.

Actually, IOs only work scaled down when the level of the IO is within 3 levels of what you're exemped down to. Example: If you're exemp'd down to level 40, then you could use up to level 43 enhancements to get the "maximum" enhancement for that power when you're exemp'd down to level 40. If you have a level 50 IO slotted (and it's not a purple IO, a PvP IO, or a Proc/Unique IO), then it will not take effect on that power if you are exemp'd below level 47.
Most of the time, I slot level 50 IOs/Sets on all my level 50 toons so they're "maxed" at the upper-tier content. However, I built AlienOne's human-only build to handle content as low as level 38 (when you get Eclipse). So, technically, on powers that weren't slotted with purples/PvP IOs/Uniques, I could have slotted all level 41s if I wanted to be anal-retentive about it... However, it's extremely hard to get a full set of anything (even on Freedom) at "off-levels", so I decided to just go with 40s, so I could have the power fully enhanced and keep the set bonuses all the way down to (technically) level 37. However, most of the time, if the content's below level 40, I go ahead and switch to my tri-form build anyway.
As for Haste, you have an extremely valid point... I've actually gone with the 2-slot Hasten thing on several of my controllers and scrappers. For example, I built a Plant/Trick Arrow 'troller that has soft-capped ranged defense, which required me to 6-slot a LOT of powers in order to get those ranged defense bonuses, which really stretched the slots of the build out considerably. In that case, I 2-slotted Hasten.
Long story short, the reason I 3-slotted Hasten was so when I hit a base buff for +recharge (20%), that would put me at 180% global recharge, which would effectively put my Hasten at "perma." Having Hasten at perma is not necessary for surviveability on a human-form build, but IMO, it's really nice to have a constant recharge that high, and no downtime for Hasten... Just my preference though.
I say if you really, really need the extra slot somewhere else, then definitely take one of those recharges off of Hasten.

A quote:
Level 32 is a key breakpoint. If you are 33 or higher, you can Exemplar as low as 32 with no penalties no matter how big the drop is. If you are 32 or higher and you Exemplar below 32, your penalties will be the same no matter how high you were to begin with. |
Example 1: You are level 40 and elect to help a friend with the first Respec Trial. You are auto-Exemplared to 33. The value for level 33 is 1.0, and the value for 40 is 1.0, so your Enhancement benefits won't change (1.0 ÷ 1.0 = 1.0). Example 2: You are level 30 and enter Bloody Bay. Bloody Bay adjusts all characters to a Combat Level of 25. The value for level 25 is 0.733, and the value for level 30 is 0.935, so your Enhancement benefits will scale to 0.784 times normal (0.733 ÷ 0.935). Example 3: You call your level 50 Scrapper out of retirement to help a team in Steel Canyon. You get Exemplared to a level 13 Controller. Your Enhancements will provide roughly one-third their normal benefit (0.331 ÷ 1.0 = 0.331). |

However, to clarify to anyone reading this, that does not apply to set IOs--ONLY generic IOs. In my previous post, I was referring to my sets that I have at lower levels, not my generic IOs.
So, in your opinion, if I'm regularly getting exemp'd down to a level 15 status (Positron TF, which is mainly what my tri-form build is for), and a level 50 IO (generic) would not have any effect on me at that level, which level IO should I get? Stay with 50? Do they even work when I'm exemp'd down that low?

1. Set bonuses
2. Special IO bonuses
3. % enhancement
1 and 2 depend on the level of the IO compared to the level you exemplar to, and sometimes to the level of the power you put it in (gets confusing, the Wiki has a whole page dedicated to it somewhere that I always lose the link to and really need to bookmark). Purples and PvP sets are immune to this.
#3 only cares about your original level and exemped level and from that uses the table Positron provided (at my link above) to determine the final value. The level of the IO never plays into it. So a level 50 IO on a character exemped to 33 still gives a 42.5% bonus. But at level 30, it is lower. At level 15 it is far lower. But since it is a straight % reduction from the original value, your best bet is to get the highest starting point as possible. Or to combine a ton of really small bonuses. Purples and PvP sets ARE NOT immune to this:
The Set Bonuses of Purple (Very Rare) Sets and PvP Sets are immune to the effects of exemplaring. However, the aspects of the power that they buff (e.g., Accuracy or Damage) are affected by exemplaring just like any other enhancement. |
To keep your total % intact as low as level 15 you need to have each individual bonus be less than 10%. So an Acc/Dam that gives 9.8%/9.8% would not be reduced, but one that gives 12%/12% would. For that you need this page Enhancement Relative Values.
A level 12 Acc/Dam gives 9.4%/9.4% so would give full power from level 50 to level 10. But at 18.8% is only as good as a +2 DO. A level 15 Triple gives 9.6%/9.6%/9.6% and is thus as good as a -1 SO all the way from level 10 to level 50. In theory the Salvo Quad would be a good one too, but since the fourth is Range it's only so-so. Works up to level 17 though and you can pretend it is a Triple giving you a few more options.
But in reality, it's rough to try and get full value all the way down. There just aren't enough triples to drop to level 15 without getting the hit. And they're not from great sets either. But it's probably a safer bet than using high-level sets. Problem is that there is only Salvo with ranged triples low enough. Compare:
Salvo (Dam/End/Rchg) Level 15 = 9.4%
Salvo (Acc/Dam/End/Rang) Level 17 = 9.6% (5.6% range)
Salvo (Acc/Dam) Level 12 =9.4%
Far Strike (Acc/End) Level 12 =9.4%
Far Strike (Dam/Rchg) Level 12 = 9.4%
Total: 28.4% Acc, 37.6% Dam, 28.4% End, 18.8% Rchg, 5.6% Range. Would be the same total bonus at level 10 and at level 50. And you get the almost worthless set bonuses all the way down to level 14 for both, and level 9 for Far Strike. As if anyone would really care at that point.
If you use the examples from the linked page:
Example: Slotting Aimed Shot with Ruin - Accuracy/Endurance/Recharge: Level 40 Devastation - Accuracy/Damage/Endurance/Recharge: Level 50 Devastation - Accuracy/Damage/Recharge: Level 43 Thunderstrike - Accuracy/Damage/Endurance: Level 43 Thunderstrike - Damage/Endurance/Recharge: Level 43 Thunderstrike - Accuracy/Damage/Recharge: Level 43 gives a total bonus of: 93.18% Accuracy, 93.57% Damage, 76.8% Endurance Reduction and 93.18% Recharge Reduction at full effect from level 21 to 50. |
36.4% Acc, 36.6% Dam, 30.0% End, 36.4% Rchg at level 15
Not a lot better, but better. You'd have no set bonuses unless you used some Purples or PvP sets in place of the ones given in the example. I only used 5 IOs in the level 15 build so in theory you could stick in the level 50 Dev Quad to squeeze a little more oomph (I think 4%-ish) out of each category.
I'm currently driving myself bonkers trying to figure this out for my BS/Regen scrapper I like to do Oroboros missions with. I think I'm coming to the conclusion that if it is below level 20, I really don't care about the % or the set bonuses.
Now the real kink in the process is this line here:
4. Apply Enhancement Diversification to your grand totals at the very end. |

AlienOne's Human-Form Warshade Guide (Old guide+New guide = 12,000+ views!)
Short Version:
It looks like the best bet is to make a character specifically for Posi runs and level lock them at 20-ish to get the extra powers and slots (since you keep powers 5 levels above your exemped value). Then equip a mix of level 18 sets and level 25 Generic IOs.
Not sure due to slotting where the ideal level would be, but for Posi runs, that would be my recommendation. Of course, see my signature file if you dare to actually trust my advice. =)

Well, the tri-form isn't ONLY for Posi runs, although it does quite a bit of them.... I use the tri-form build for TFs all the way up to and including the Manticore TF....So, although I may not be "maxing out" for specifically the Positron TF, I feel as though I'm more flexible for all the lower-level content with my current build.

Can someone with Mids go into AlienOne's Human-form Warshade guide and publish builds 2 and 4 in a way that those of us on Mac's (such as me) can read them?
I tried asking in the thread, and by PM. So far no luck. Thanks!
