Hi guys, just got back on coh and decided to resurrect my SS/ELA brute currently at 44 and i gots 1 free respec. I've never been one to invest too much time in my builds, never using sets or anything since i did well without them. But im looking for good build for this brute and what you'd recomend i use in it? Just no purples i cant afford them :P.

This is the current one i came up with myself but i douth its solid or viable, given my inexperience with doing this.

Its really hard to not make a "viable" brute. So yes, youre build is viable. Youve slotted your resists, and have stamina...

What you need to decide is what your trying to do with him....are you trying to get your defenses built? Or maybe trying to go recharge intensive to get Footstomp and Energize up more often? Or trying to get your hp and regen up so you can survive more.

Really, once you prioritize what youre trying to do, picking IOs becomes a lot easier.

I think if you answer those questions I can help you put something more viable together.

A couple of points
1) With Elec Armor, Ive always liked to slot one kb protection somewhere for the times Im not touching the ground and get hit with KB. Grounded as a power is a pain sometimes with when it decides youre not on the ground. Large groups and uneven terrain make for unhappiness.

2) Get that HO out of boxing...Its silly and expensive.

3) I would recommend changing the order around on your powers. Swift at 6, Health at 14 and Stamina at 20. Movement power precursor at 8, movement power at 16. Fit everything else around that. For exemplaring purposes only but its a headache if you ever want to do the Shark TF ouro some arcs or what not

4) With defense, unless your focusing on defense and plan on taking it into the 30% range. Dont bother. It wont be a noticable difference. Softcap is at 45%

5) Obliterations are a wonderful set, but they are recharge heavy and endurance reduction light....perfect for footstomp, horrible for lightning field

Hope that helps...

it does! thanks alot, i guess im mainly looking for great defensive brute above all else but steady stream of AOE to mow mobs down while my health regenerates. That HO in boxing was a mistake btw :P not that badly imformed. And the order is so strange beacuse im not leveling, just respecing.

I'm working on the same thing (old SS/ELA that's been collecting dust at lvl 43). This is what I came up with, but with a focus on recharge then hitpoints. I haven't respecced into it just yet and I'm sure it could be better.

That looks pretty good, but are darkest night and gloom more effective then the added AOE of the MU powers?

I was thinking of using them, but the recharge on darkest night is fairly lenghty.

And thanks for the input, learning abit more about the brutes heh.
