This is my first go redside and I have to think I've made a good jump into it with a very solid AT and powerset selection. Since slotting spin, RttC, FH and QR I've been unstoppable. At 38 I'm not quite sure where to go next though, I have zero experience with the patron pools, but still see some other options out there that could help me as well. Maybe the Leadership pool for more defense with maneuvers and maybe more damage with assault and/or to hit with tactics? Endurance probably won't be an issue so I could add more toggles. Or maybe look at some more attacks to go with spin through the patron pools? At any rate, any help would be greatly appreciated. Here's my build to date, I'm quite proud of the sets I've grabbed up till now.

I hate to be a pest and bump my own post, but I must've slid under the radar and went unnoticed when I first posted this. At any rate, I've recently jumped redside again and dusted this guy off and I'm still looking for a little help in where to go from here. As I said before, this is my first brute so I'm not familiar at all with the patron powers. I suppose I could work the soul mastery into my theme/concept of my character, but it'd be a stretch (Mercenary/Lycan). I was also considering just forgoing the patron pools altogether and maybe picking up a power from my primary/secondary that I might've skipped and/or mixing in the Leadership pool.

Any suggestions and help would be greatly appreciated.

I skipped my patron on my claws/WP, simply to avoid redraw issues.

What I'm trying to figure out about your current build is the combination of cost-cutting and expensive sets. RTTC is using generic heal IO's, while you're using Kinetic Combats, of which the triple fetches for a hefty price.

Now some slotting suggestions:

In general, you don't have very good accuracy in your attacks. I would either go with Mako to complement your kinetic combats or two pounding slugfests for regen. 2 makos offers better efficiency, but a lousy set bonus. Given it's a /WP, I'd probably go for mako.

Go ahead and grab strength of will. It's a nice T9 and can serve as a mule for a set of reactives.

You should be able to manage to fit in Eradication's Chance for NRG proc in your PBAoE attacks. It adds a pretty nice boost to damage to your attacks. Try swapping out your Scirr Acc/Dam with a Dam/Rech and your Erad Dam/Rech with the proc. You'll gain a slight increase in AoE dps. The same comment for spin. You could also skip the proc and swap that acc/dam for dam/end for better endurance efficiency.

You'll want more accuracy in Followup. I like rectified recticle and Kinetic, but I don't like mixing them, because you wind up with very poor accuracy.

I like mixing Thunderstrike and Devastation in my range attacks if I want nrg/neg defense and some good regen/hp bonuses. Even 5 slotting it gives great numbers.

If you're willing to fork out some more inf for your toon, here are some sets you will want to use over those generics:

4 Performance Shifter, for +HP and Recov
3 Numinas: Heal, Heal/End, Heal/Rech, or Unique for better Regen/HP
2 Miracles: Heal, Unique for better recovery.

Thanks Tonality, I've taken your suggestions and worked up a new build. I've gots some funds behind me despite this being my one and only redside toon. Fortunately, thanks to spin and all my regen and recovery tools I was able to start farming with him early in some custom AE missions and I've been able to make a couple hundred mil inf buying and selling the bronze tickets randoms. Sooooo...I've managed to get myself three sets of kinetic combats, some nice uniques that drop in the 10-14 bronze random rolls, but past that I tend to be a cheapskate and noob.

I took your suggestion on Focus, Strike, Spin and Eviserate, slotting them accordingly. I'm still alittle torn on follow-up, I really like the set bonus of the rectified reticle for the defense but admit to wishing I had more accuracy. I am getting quite a bit of accuracy from set bonuses in LoTG and the kismet unique, shouldn't that plus tactics compensate? And how would you slot RTTC?

I have a few short comments:

-Don't forget the possibility of using Enfeebled in a patron immobilize for some S/L def
-Maneuvers on brutes doesn't do that much. It gets you softcapped, but on a secondary where it can regen quickly, I'm not sure how important the softcap is.

My focus on a claws/WP is a lot different than yours. I'm interested in squeezing as much innate potential before I bring in the set bonuses. At that point it becomes personal taste and your observed ingame performance. So, while I would slot various things differently, your choices for what I think is your goal seem adequate.
