KB vs. Imm
Knockback is not stopped by immobilization. It's only stopped by knockback protection.
However, several immobilizations include knockback protection (it's thematic). Not all, though, like Gravity's immob does not have knockback protection.
If the knockback mag is higher than the protection given by the immobilize, then the immobilized character/critter will still be knocked back.

Notably, Dark Blast's Tenebrous Tentacles also does not include KB protection and thus does not interfere with KB powers. Most other immobilize powers do, though, so it's easy to see how someone might conclude that it's the immobilize effect itself that cancels the KB. Not the case, however.

Now I know that kb is stopped by imm, but is it set up to where if the kb is greater than the imm, does that mean they still well fall back?
