Hami Raiding with Electic Armor?

Any used an Electric/* Tank on the Taunt team or as the main Taunt Tank for a Hami raid? If so, how did it work?

In hami raids, there's only three things you need: High regen/recovery (given to you by teammates and other raiders, though your own stats help), EoEs (which get dropped durring Monster Mashing) and Taunt.

A self heal is good, but that's easily negated by the Mending Metochondria (greens), who have a devestating -Heal. A power that grants +HP is much better for regaining your health.

Becasue all of Hamis damage is special and not typed, and he's buffed beyond all the tohit caps, no kind of defense or resistance will help. You just need to eat an EoE and tough it out until the other raiders take out the mitos.

That said, a properly built EA tank should fare pretty well as a lead taunter =)

Thanks for the input, I guess I should be a little more specific about my question.

I currently use a DA/Ice tank to raid with. He has Mag 12 KB resist from IOs and still can be KB’d by Mitos when attacks are stacked. I currently have a level 44 Electric/Fire Tank which I would like to use for Hami Raiding. However, I have experienced knock back by Diabolique and, from what I can tell, KB stacking by other enemies such as Nemesis and Malta. When I checked with Mids’ I noticed that Electric Armor lacks the KB -10,000% that Stone, Invuln and Ice enjoy. Although it does show a KB Mag -15.6 (5.6 more than the others), my concern is that KB stacking from either Mitos or Hami could set the tank up for chronic KB which is what happened while fighting Diabolique and would be bad for an aggro team Tank or lead Tank. I was hoping someone who had already tried Hami would be able to tell me how it went and if they experienced the KB what they had done to compensate.

Knockback mag only stacks if it applies within the same server tick, which is very rare (it can happen if you are aggroing multiple enemies with high-mag knockback, but even then the attacks would have to land within 0.25 seconds of each other). As for Hamidon and the yellow mitos, their knockback is mag 13, meaning you need Acro and one -KB IO to match it (four -KB IOs on their own will exceed it). The 15.6 points provided by Elec will do just fine in 95% of the situations, and assuming you're a raid-built tank, you'll have taunted your target so it will stay on you even in those rare occasions you get KB'd.

Thank you for the response. I have little concern that my Tank will loose aggro as I've take the Presence Pool as well as Taunt (I'm after Intimidate and Invoke Panic for concept reasons). Resulting in two fully slotted Taunts using Mocking Beratement . So, losing aggo is not my concern. Bouncing on my backside across the Hive is. From the sounds of it I should be covered. I'll post my experience here after I've tried it out. Should be in about a week or so, depending on how much I get to play and the raid schedule. Thank you all for your feedback.

I don't know what to tell you, but my Dark/Ice has KB protection of 12 also and can get KB's and chain KB'd during a Hami Raid. It has happened several times.

I raided with my level 46 Elect/Fire and he was chain KB'd as well several times. My impression (unless I've just got the horrible misfortune to time a bug correctly, which I doubt because it happens on my Dark as well) is that the KB -10,000% on the other armors makes the difference. I haven't played Ice, Stone, or Invuln during a raid yet, but plan on leveling my Invuln. I'll try him out and report back.

If you raid on Justice, you may have seen Faust 1394 bouncing around as the Taunt Team engages the mitos before the rest of the raiders enter the goo. Yes, I'm taking aggro from several types of Mitos at that point and have two yellows blasting me until the next Taunter gets into place. So, there could be a stacking issue.

Nuc, that's precisely what's happening, stacked aggro.

It's happened to my invul too. On both my Invul and DA, I've had periods where I've had aggro from 2 mitos and hami at the same time.

In both cases, things are fine as long as their is some staggering in between hits, but they'll fish-flop if two or more hit within a small time frame (say a second or two).

Also note, that you being 46 (ssk'd to 49) may have had an impact.

In fact, tomorrow I'll be running a fire brute with 12kb and I won't be kb'd by single mito or hami.

I'm surprised to hear that you're Invuln has the stacking issue as well. Do the Stone Tanks get KB'd as well, or does Rooted effectively cancel all KB?

I'll have to take Faust to the next raid. He's 48 now, so it will be interesting to see if there's any change in the amount of KB he's getting.
