P.E.R.C. Presents Champion Hits The Catwalk!
Saturday, December 5th, 2009
Founders Falls @ 9:00PM EST
Hosted By P.E.R.C. Representatives Miz Nibbles, Dazz Marvelous, & Cherry 2000

"Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening."-Coco Chanel

Details:
With the introduction of the new walk travel power, or the sexy walk as many like to call it, P.E.R.C. has decided to hold a Fashion Show in it's honor. It's time to design your outfits, strut your stuff, show us what you got, and hit the runway. This is not your ordinary costume contest folks, this is a contest based on design, execution, and flawless representation. Dreams will be born, tears will be shed, and fashion nightmares revealed. But, in the end a male winner and a female winner will be chosen as King & Queen of the Champion Fashion Runway.

Fashion Show Schedule:
Fashion Show Location: Founders' Falls Fountains (Slightly North of Numina / Infernal)
Models arrive starting at 8:30pm EST
Spectators arrive starting at 8:50pm EST
Judges / Hosts will start the show starting at 9:00pm EST

Judging Details:
A panel of players will be compiled to judge this event. Like any Fashion Show the judges will be voting on more then just the costume. Judges will be looking at overall costume design, execution, models appearance, catwalk presentation, etc. Models need to sell the costume and prove that it could be the next "it" look.

Judging Categories
Judges will be looking for fashion designs in the following categories:
-Formal Wear / Dress Wear
-Casual / Street Attire
-Swimwear
-Misc. (Alternative, Outerwear, Lingerie, etc.)

Prizes:

Formal Wear / Dress Wear
1st Place: 15 Million
2nd Place: 10 Million
3rd Place: 5 Million

Casual / Street Attire
1st Place: 15 Million
2nd Place: 10 Million
3rd Place: 5 Million

Swimwear
1st Place: 15 Million
2nd Place: 10 Million
3rd Place: 5 Million

Misc.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT OF P.E.R.C.

Totally called it in BMT on day one(part 2).

Let me start off by saying: I am sorry to be critical, Miz. I mean no personal disrespect.

I'm having a hard time with the "categories" presented.

-Formal Wear / Dress Wear
-Casual / Street Attire
-Swimwear
-Misc. (Alternative, Outerwear, Lingerie, etc.)

Here we are in a superhero game, and not one of the categories is for uniform/costume. I can understand using those elements for enhancement of a superheroes costume, but having a costume contest without "costumes" seems silly.

When comic book characters were created, their wardrobe was modeled on circus performers and strong-men; bright and colorful, showing off the enhanced body shape, etc... This made them stand out from the other figures on the printed page of comics.

This game is based around the mythos of the iconic recognizable costumes of the superhero, (Such as Superman, batman, Wonder Woman, Spider-man, Capt. America, etc.) and although the nineties took a brief detour from that iconic look (like stupid Adam-X with his ridiculous backwards baseball hat) with a boatload of Anti-heroes in non-tight costumes, heroes aways end up BACK in their tights.

Anyways,.... sorry for my rant. I think there should be a category for "comic book costume".

Ummmm... this is a FASHION SHOW not a costume contest?

I understand where you are coming from Dinah. But as a PERC Rep its also our job to come up with different fun events for people to attend. We have done the Super Hero CC many times over. And we get an outcry for something different. I understand that I can not please everyone. But this event was posted as a fashion show not a CC. And if you are going to soly base this game upon the history of super heroes then why did the Devs even develop the new walk they placed into the game.

Except that this idea wasn't thought up by a PERC Rep. It's merely bein' implemented by one.

didn't this idea get stolen from a vent convo during a hami raid?

If all 3 of the Champion PERC reps happen to be in UHB that sure does speak volumes about that SG. Having members that actually "do" rather than just sit up and complain and do nothing to contribute is a huge accomplishment IMHO.

**As far as this being a "stolen" idea....Virtue has been doing runway fashion shows for years and did one the SAME day the catwalk power hit the live server. There really is no such thing as an original event for the most part, just recycled pre-used ones.

GL Nibbles, Dazz and Cherry on your event!

Why don't you guys do stuff like this in pocket D so villains can get in on it?

I'm sure the fact that this only recently came up on Champion nearly directly after the conversation on Vent has nothin' to do with it.

Yeah, no.

TY Kat for clarifying! Fashion Shows have been around for a long time and we (Nibs, Cherry, and I) were very excited to do one on Champion!

OK! I do believe people are upset that this event is supposedly "stolen" from Cherry, WHO JUST SO HAPPENS TO BE HELPING RUN THIS EVENT! I do believe Cherry and a few others were a part of this conversation???

Can we please move on and WELCOME CHERRY TO PERC as this is her first PERC Event!!!

This is completely false! We just ran a Halloween Event on red side and had THREE players show up (one of which had no clue the event was going on and two others who were just switching over from blue side)!!! We would love to support more red side events but every time we do one nobody has shown up! We don't understand the gripes when we have no support as well. We both need to learn to support each other whole-heartedly! If we saw enough villains players come forth and say HEY WE WANT THESE EVENTS AND WE WILL SHOW UP then we would totally do them. Let me know your thoughts CL as we always are trying to figure out how we support Red Side but still gain enough participation. We do want what is best for both sides of the server!

Never said it didn't. What I said is whoever was talking about it on vent did not have an original idea, its been done. That would be irrelevant either way because who cares? People are taking their precious time to run events for the server and all the ********, making unnecessary sarcastic comments or being rude shouldn't be happening. Don't like the event, don't attend. It really is that simple.

I Love Multi Quote!

Enough of that, I have been following this thread since yesterday. I want to address each point.

While I do not disagree with you, this contest was specifically designed as a fashion show. Now I understand that costumes could be considered fashion, however the idea was to run it like an actual fashion show. In my best estimation there are thousands of costume contests, why turn this into one.

I have no idea, however I will say this was mentioned to me over a month ago. I liked the idea and approved it based on my experience of running similar events on Justice, and in all honesty I thought it was originally my idea from years ago doing Justice Radio Events. I am also aware they do this on Virtue quite often and CK reminded us all of that. I will ask a simple question, if someone else thought of this idea on Champion, then why have I not seen any evidence of that.

I believe the idea was a bright atmosphere. Sadly Pocket D is a Club atmosphere. Founders Falls or AP works best for these types of events. However I will say that about a week or 2 after this event their will be a Costume Contest on Champion in Pocket D. The Annual Mr. and Ms. Paragon City and Mr. and Ms. Rogue Isles.

In conclusion if anyone has any questions or concerns post them here or send me a PM. If the person who claims to be the originator of this idea wished to file a grievance over this please send me a PM or post here. That is all

That's cool. I was mostly curious because of all the criticism the AoW events got over letting AoW members participate in an objective competition. So are the SGs that the judges, for this subjective competition, belong to allowed to enter?

Hey! As said in previous reply (which might have been lost): Nibs and I are from UHB, Cherry and Neuronia from other seperate guilds.

As such this is a PERC Event so we do have other PERC Reps from other servers come help judge to eliminate bias.

Everyone is allowed to participate whom is on Champion! SO COME ONE AND COME ALL!!!

Thanks Talon !

oh wow.... the Idea was Cherry's so my question is, yes she is in perc but why not let her post it, and head up the idea? Granted I'm sure the idea has been done on other servers but it was new to her, she had a lot of excitement in her voice, hence why some of us are on the defensive.

We're ******** about who gets to post event announcements, whose idea it was, and "If I were running it, I'd do X", now? Did I miss something?

It's a fashion show. How hard is this to understand?

Loose --> not tight.
Lose --> Did not win, misplace, cannot find, subtract.
One extra 'o' makes a big difference.

P.E.R.C. is a group effort. We all help with events. We post events in our P.E.R.C. Forums for everyone to take a look at before making them public. By the time an event gets thru the process alot of people have had their hands in it. Who came up with the idea and who adjusted it or modified it is a moot point. Its a P.E.R.C. event and we all work together.

One last thing, I am looking into different alternatives as to who posts events to alleviate concerns about ownership. If you have any questions or concerns shoot me a PM.

There's a thought....I ran a CC in Pocket D once so vills could come. Turn out was absolutely huge!

Red side needs love too!

Hey Shay! Love you lots!

Like I said before, we actually just did do an event villainside and didn't have much of a turnout (about 3 players, a few more straggled in after the contest had started). Like Nibs also pointed out the lighting in Pocket D is horrendous for judging costume contest (in my opinion).

I am more then happy however to show love to red side. Like I said previously I'd love to get in touch with players who play more along red side and devise some Red Side only type contests as well. If you would like to send me suggestions or feedback shoot me a PM and I would be happy to review, develop, and converse about them!

Sorry, I thought I had made it clear from the that I was joking. I know PERC doesn't hate red side.

If the lighting in Pocket D is a problem for costume contests, there is always the Rikti War Zone, especially now that it's open to those at any level. Just don't hold an event there Thursday nights.

HAHAHA! Ya I will try to remember that for the future! LOL! :P

I know you were joking but some people do think that CL! And I'd like to work really hard to get rid of misconceptions and work with all you awesome people to make events more fun for all! That is truly what we ALL (not just PERC) are about when it comes to running events! We do this for the community and to have fun and to take this game beyond any other and do those wild, crazy stuff no other game can possibly do!

STAY MARVELOUS !
