It'll work, but it's a midgrade card so don't expect much from it. For the record, it's not even listed over at Tom's Hardware on the VGA charts. The 9600GT is listed, and it's down toward the bottom of the chart. You may get ultra mode to look pretty, but your FPS will probably be shot to hell. That's my guess.

here's the link

Be well, people of CoH.

So what would you suggest? far as card goes?

So would a GeForce GT 220 be a good target card to upgrade to? I've been using a Radeon X800 Pro for...since I built my machine. It has served me well but I think it's about time to retire it.

Hello, my name is @Caligdoiel and I'm an altoholic.

Thanks for the Tom's Hardware link, Bill, I was looking for that before posting this question and couldn't find it, was looking in the wrong place.

As widescreen laptops start to go on sale, it looks like everybody and his dog is using Nvidia 250's. Anybody care to speculate on whether or not that'd be enough to get, say, 30 FPS in a crowded raid with Ultra Mode on?

In early spring, I'll fall into the 'buying Dell' camp...but for a reason. I"m getting a birthday/xmas gift certificate to Dell...which means I'm going to go Alienware. Looking at current system configurations I think I'd be good to go were I to buy now. But as I"m buying in March (when I actually get the gift) I figure the possibilities will be slightly better.

Just wondering, any thoughts on Alienware from people who've run CoX on the machines?

Yeah, I hear the Cosmos is great to work in. The other one, though, has two things going for it - no door (pulled the door off my Sonata II, as well, after a while,) and the slide-out MB tray.

Of course, I've liked the look and reputation of the cosmos pretty much since it came out.

Depends on what resolution you want to run it at.

Clicking on the linked image above will take you off the City of Heroes site. However, the guides will be linked back here.
