I've found that using sets to increase typed defense is extremely effective on an /Inv scrapper. To that end, I would slot Kinetic Combats (or the cheaper Smashing Haymaker) set to increase your smash/lethal defense.
I also find Doctored Wounds to be a very useful set for use in Dull Pain (as 5 of them give a 5% global recharge which can be a useful bonus).
Not sure what you're budget is for sets, but here's the build I'm currently using on my MA/Inv scrapper and it's been performing very well with the new difficulty settings.

I see that your set is having good def, but there are some points though.
1. I don't like the fighting pool and thus I won't take it.
2. My own experience is, that the auto-resses are very useful, and almost essential, to the Inv set. This is also reasoned with my big liking of fighting Malta's, thus hating the Sappers, so I need Res NRGs.
Though, some of your edits are very nice. Gimme some time to put together another.
