Switching to US

Is there a way to switch from using a EU client to a US client? I've heard that you can simply rename the Updater from the CohUpdater.EU.exe version to CohUpdater.exe but when I try that it keeps asking where I want to install CoH and then says "Error Opening file C:\Program Files\ City of Heroes/CohUpdater.exe"

What is a simple way to switch clients?

Its best to install both to different folders so you don't have problems when the two sets of servers are updated at different times.

You can just copy the EU folder structure across and download the US updater to that folder.
Renaming the updater as you described should work. I believe the only difference between the two updaters is that the EU one contains the language settings - I'm not sure what would happen if you use non English language settings though. The server group appears to be identified from the executable name so if its called CoHUpdater.exe you will access US, if its called CoHUpdaterEU.exe you will access EU.

Also check that forward slash on the error message

Why is there a space after "Program Files\"?

And the last slash should be a \ as well for Windows (although they do seem to alternate them).

Given that we've common maintenance nowadays I assume the two clients should always be updated at the same time now, so it shouldn't matter about having 2 seperate installs.

Got it to work by selecting a different file to download to then dumping a copy of the EU files in there.
