Updating an I13 AV Soloist

Currently taking advantage of reactivation weekend, which got me looking at my AV soloing BS/SR Scrapper and was wondering how I could tweak him with some of the changes in I16 as well as that 3% defense PvP IO in I14 (assuming I could ever touch the thing). I don't have him finished slotting on live, and won't be able to until I'm able to play frequently enough again to justify resubbing. But, in the mean time, having an updated idea of what to adjust his build for would be handy.

Basically, I'm looking at two news APP powers: Physical Perfection and Melt Armor. Both would be awesome to have, but they are also both tier 2 APP powers, which would force me to sacrifice something somewhere to get them. Also, I only have the pair of slots in Conserve power to spare for the new power. But, I'm thinking that with Physical Perfection I might have limitless endurance all the time, which I technically do already if I use CP when I'm running low, and additional regen never hurts. However, Melt Armor would give a bit of a -def and -res debuff, which may boost kill speed. One of the issues I have with going those routes, however, is having to pick up potentially useless power. I already hate that I have Boxing and Stimulant and they do nothing but eat a power choice, but the powers I got help a little too much.

As said, I would need to sacrifice something. Most likely it'd be Confront (aka Super Jump in the below build, except at level 49, I didn't update it to account for that change). However, I find Confront to be rather handy for it's range debuff in AV fights (Confront, jump away, Aid Self without ranged attacks fired at me in the mean time or use it to avoid getting hit by Built-Up, Aimed, Followed-Up, Soul Drained, etc. attacks) and would be rather reluctant to give it up. Stimulant/Aid Self would be another option, since I don't need the healing, it's just very handy. If dropping that pair didn't free up two power picks, 5 slots, and a whole power pool, I wouldn't even consider it. Doing that I could keep things more or less as is and even pick-up Hasten, but the lack of a self-heal, even if it's a bit of a poor one. could really hurt.

Finally, that PvP 3% defense IO (IF I ever get one), I could slot it into Tough and then have enough defense to ditch Combat Jumping for something else. On the current build or if I dropped Confront for a tier 2 APP, I'd probably just switch it with Hasten. But, if I get rid of Stimulant/Aid Self, I'd have a total of three powers and even more slots to reassign, or even four powers if I got rid of Confront too. That opens up... a lot of possibilities, such as maybe even getting a decent AoE attack somewhere so I can handle multiple foes better when I team. Getting that IO may never happen, but I certainly want to have a plan in mind for it if I ever do nab one.

So, anyone have any ideas for what I should do, both without and with that PvP IO? Is Melt Armor or Physical Perfection worth pursuing? Or am I fine as is? My current build is below, with, again, one exception: move Super Jump to level 49 and swap it with Confront. By the way, I'd like to leave the other powers more or less the same, outside of taking slots from swapped powers and adding them to ones I had already taken.

Finally, just to give a bit of heads up, once reactivation runs out, I won't be able to reply to any posts anymore. I'll still read 'em though!

Well, the Gladiator's Armor is incredibly expensive. Basically, you put in your bid of 2 billion influence and hope you get one of the rare ones that comes up. Even if you can afford ten of them, I can't really suggest "wasting" one on a Super Reflexes, when it is so easy to get a Super Reflexes to the soft cap. That said, if I were bringing my I12/I13 Super Reflexes up to I16 standards, I'd probably end up with one. I don't always follow my own advice.

I wouldn't drop Aid Self. You might take out some AVs without it, but having it will make it easier, and allow you to get some AVs that you otherwise could not.

I would personally try to pick up Physical Perfection rather than Melt Armor. The extra DPS from Melt Armor would be nice, but it's awfully pricey on endurance. Endurance you likely won't have to spend without Conserve Power or Physical Perfection. Probably worth looking at both ways, though.

Well I have been playing around with this for some trying to get my BS/SR updated to i16. This is what I have.

I couldn't fit in Physical Perfection because I wanted aid self...also to get the 2 +3 def I needed to have tough. The only thing adding the PvP +3 def IO did for me I was able to add more regen too my build because I really didn't have in room to change powers.

Here is what I came up with for my new build this build gives me about 3 more hit points of regen and cost a lot more because of the PvP IO. I'm most likely not going to respec to it because it just doesn't seem worth it to me.

While we're at this, I noticed in another topic Physical Perfection makes the recovery procs stronger. I can't log in anymore during reactivation weekend, so it's going to be a long time before I can hop on test with a respec and play around with it, so I have to ask. Could that be strong enough to skip Health And Stamina without my regen and endurance taking a big hit (I'll also have CP in that case) or even coming out ahead? Being able to drop Fitness would open three power choices and a power pool, letting me grab Hasten. But, it could also gimp me hard...

Ugh, I really wish I could connect to CoH from my dorm, so I could justify the monthly fee and toy around with it all...

It will depend on your energy needs. Stamina with three endmod IOs gives you about a 50% recovery boost, while both uniques and three endmods in Physical Perfection gives about 80%. Essentially, PP + both uniques is a tiny bit better than Stamina + both uniques in Health.

So... if you can get by on Stamina with three endmods, one Performance Shifter proc, and the two recovery uniques in Health you can also get by with three endmods, the two uniques, and a Performance Shifter proc in PP. Of course you also lose all your recovery boosts if you exemp down much below 40... so get your Task Force Commander accolade first.

EDIT: Your regen will take a decent hit though if you had Health slotted with the uniques and Heal IOs. Heal IOs boost the regen uniques in Health like Endmod IOs boost the recovery uniques. You'll drop from about +125% regen to around +40%. If you only use the uniques in Health and not health IOs the difference is less (though if you currently use the Regenerative Tissue unique too you're still losing 45% or so).
