So, this new system for setting your difficulty... umm help
When solo, you basically want +1 level and 2 heroes. It's not always exactly what you had before, partially because they simultaneously modified how stuff spawns, but it's pretty darn close.
It won't scale with real team size - if you were on the 4th setting before and added a teammate, you both got roughly 3 players of spawns. Now it takes your setting or the real team size, whichever is larger (and no difference in a tie). So for a team of three, you want +1 level and 4 heroes to match your old settings.
Blue
American Steele: 50 BS/Inv
Nightfall: 50 DDD
Sable Slayer: 50 DM/Rgn
Fortune's Shadow: 50 Dark/Psi
WinterStrike: 47 Ice/Dev
Quantum Well: 43 Inv/EM
Twilit Destiny: 43 MA/DA
Red
Shadowslip: 50 DDC
Final Rest: 50 MA/Rgn
Abyssal Frost: 50 Ice/Dark
Golden Ember: 50 SM/FA
But thats weaksauce.
Any 3 toons should be at +1 X6 or maybe X8 if any of you have HALF a clue
On a sidenote.
As team leader everyone on the team is -1 lvl to you. So, if your lvl 50 everyone else on the team is 49. So while the mobs are only +1 to you, they are +2 to all your teammates.
My favorite combo is Faceplant/DebtCap with the TeamWipe Ancillary

So if the team leader is level 30, anyone below him is brought up to 29. Anyone above him is brought down to 30 (but they still keep their level 32 powers, and they still get XP). And anyone at 30 doesn't change.
We'll always have Paragon.
Not true. If they would need to be SK'd before, they automatically are. If they would need to be exemp'd before, they automatically are. If they're the same level as the team leader, their level does not change.

Ah, is it up to five levels? I can never remember if it's four or five. But yes, if exemp'd, in addition to continuing to gain XP, you keep the powers from five levels above your combat level.

So, I quit for a bit and came back for I16, love all the new toys but having some problems with the new hero/villain system.
I used to play on level 4, can't remember the name but it was for the most mobs at not too much higher then my toons, the idea was I have alot of AoE goodness so I wanted lots of mobs, but not to hard to hit. So, with the new system, do I set myself at +1 mobs and 3 heroes or something? and I always play in a team of 3 so I guess we all have to have the same settings? Can someone post what the new equivalent of level 4 was and if I increase my hero settings (I am as good as 4 standard heroes or whatever) will I just get more mobs? and how does team size enter into this? if I have a team of 3 (which I always do) does it multiply the # of mobs by my settings (as good as 3 heroes or whatever) * the # of people in my team? Thanks! |
My SD/SS Tanker, for instance, loves +1/8/no boss as a set-up, as it's fast, chaotic, and a good balance between not dying and reward.
My MA/WP Scrapper, on the other hand, will go +2/3/bosses instead.
My Kat/Regen is an ST killer, what with the Achilles' Heel proc being slotted in multiple attacks (so that in a long fight, it's practically always on).
Surprisingly, my ElM/WP Scrapper is in much the same boat as my MA Scrapper, but she's without a number of IOs still, so that may change quite a bit.
On average, I find that +2/3/bosses is my normal setup for anything melee. My Ill/Storm, as much as I love the chaos she brings, is better off with a smaller number of harder targets, as Ill's controls generally bypass most defences and mez resistances.
