Trouble WIth the Client

Has anyone else experienced trouble with the client tonight? I logged in to refresh a couple of toons then decided to create something, but it won't let me back in the game.

All am getting is this:

Yay at last after an hour of flaffling about wit firewalls and virus scans it *suddenly* lets me in!

Had no troubles tonight. In fact it was a lag free occasion...

And guess wot it's done it again this morning Grrr!

Having the exact same problem guys, any solutions? Seriously hampering my Double XP enjoyment!

Been having some problems myself every now and then. I use a shortcut that jumps the updater. Put "D:\City of Heroes\CityOfHeroes.exe" -project eucoh (D drive is where I have CoH installed) as the target for the shortcut. Can't remember where I found this but it sure is handy for moments like this!

Aye been trying that Max, thanks very much for the suggestion. However doesn't seem to be working but luckily got on somehow via the normal way!

FYI, The default install for CoH (Win XP) is "C:\Program Files\City of Heroes"
That with the bypass is...

EU
"C:\Program Files\City of Heroes\CohUpdater.EU.exe -project eucoh"

USA
"C:\Program Files\City of Heroes\CohUpdater.exe -project coh"

ATTENTION
This bypasses the updater so be advised that any updates will not be installed and may make your game unstable!!!

Having the same problems, my EU updater keeps saying connecting.. #4. Tried the American updater and it connected REAL fast...Aw well guess I won't be enjoying the free days I got on my account, and this only reassures me I did the right thing when I cancelled payments
