What % do i need to be in defense to be softcapped in pvp?
I'm pretty sure that softcapped SR without elude in PvE plus ED capped Elude will get you close to the soft cap in PvP.
So 45 + (45*1.56) = 115.2% defense in PvE = ~45% in PvP. Or something silly like that.
Worth it? Don't know.
Be well, people of CoH.

With IO sets alone, its impossible.
It depends on what AT you are playing. Squishies can never exceed ~20 defense. Sorry, no way around that. really just dont build for defense its impossible
I think with the right powerset it's possible to get to the cap...or almost to it. My friend has an ice tank that he says is right around that 45% mark in PvP. All from the ice shields + bonuses. It must be totally crazy in PvE.
Other than that, I've teamed with Ronin in the past, and with like 3-4 stacked vengeances, a defense based melee toon will get to the cap. But obviously that's a lot of external buffs.
There's no such thing as a "soft cap" in PvP, only the hard cap imposed by DR. The reason for this is players, unlike critters, have attacks slotted for accuracy and have access to a multitude of tohit and accuracy buffs. For most melee ATs the DR hard cap on defense is somewhere in the 50-60% range, but good luck hitting that yourself. I've seen some Forts/NWs pushing 50% ranged defense without Elude but that's rare.
"One day we all may see each other elsewhere. In Tyria, in Azeroth. We may pass each other and never know it. And that's sad. But if nothing else, we'll still have Rhode Island."
Or is it even possible?
and if it is, is it worth it?
