DM/SD Build Critique

Hey all. First off, let me apologize in advance if this was posted recently. The boards lag my computer to no end (for reasons unknown to me) and search freezes it almost entirely.

Now onto my build. I made it in order to (hopefully) solo some AVs blueside, so that would be the main goal of my build. My budget is around 1 bil, so no purples, at least until the prices drop. So, without further ado, here's my build. Let me know what you think.

I take hurdle instead of swift, and if you have the cash to spare, put an HO in either one.

The more people I meet, the more I'm beginning to root for the zombies.

I moved some powers around and improved your slotting in Siphon Life. You don't need recharge in it to run MG>Smite>SL>MG.

Call me crazy, but it looks as if you re-posted my exact build Santo. I'm guessing that wasn't your intention, but thanks anyways.

Anyone else have some feedback?

Dark/Shield Build Thread

I also have a DM/SD. I have some questions though.

Any particular reason why you guys chose to go with Against all Odds so late? I think I got it as soon as it was available or something. And I took the fighting pool early on as well.

Also, why all the doctored wounds in true grit? Is there a particular reason you didnt slot the three resistance slots there? or did you make up for it elsewhere? Or was it that you sacrificed resistance for something else?

I'm just trying to get a different perspective on how I might build my DM/SD. he's only 36 now.

Oh also, i went with the flight pool rather than super jump because I can get air superiority and then flight. I have another attack and then the travel power. This attack replaces the shadow punch I might've taken for the attack chain. I four slotted it with Kinetic combat. The target I attack can barely stay on their feet if they aren't too high lvled and a boss or something. I can even knock bosses down though.

The builds look like they are lvl 50 so it really doesn't matter when you take the power. Also with leveling up I didn't take it till lvl 22 I think because I couldn't take the arggo from it.

For the 5%+ recharge it has

You going to get more out of the +HP then +resis. Having over 200+ Hitpoints will help out more then just 5% resistance(made up number don't know the number it gives but it is not a lot)

Edit: just looked at the numbers in mids it goes from 11.3% resis to 17.8% resis with 3 resis IOs in. so that would be 6.5% more so I was close

Good point on the true grit. Looks like I have some reslotting to do. i could use the recharge for powers like shield charge, soul drain, etc. And I could also use the extra hit points. Thanks!

I think six slotting True Grit with Numina's is the best option ; 12% regeneration, 1.87% HP, an awesome 3.75% ranged defense, and it's an ideal power to slot the unique into.

It can be but it wasn't on my build I 5 slotted doctored wounds for the +rechrage because I needed it for the my attack chain and in the last slot I put the +3 PVP IO in. so there was no need for the +3.75% ranged defesne because the +3 PvP IO put me up over the soft cap for all three which was better for my build.

I don't know about you guys, but it seems these days Doctored Wounds sets fits my budget more than the numina's sets. Man, it's hard and expensive these days to complete a set of numina's unless you constantly task force. I've been trying. LOL!

But I like speeding up my attack chain too because at the moment the smite>siphon>smite>MG isn't working because of recharge times. but I still tear up baddies.

Agreed, DW's can be a more efficient decision in some situations. Not everybody can afford the +3% def PvP IO, though.

Yup, Prey pretty much summed it up for ya. The one thing I will say, though, is that you'd get much more use out of hover than Air Sup. I personally prefer leaping to flight, so that's why I took CJ, but the extra defense is just enough to push you to the softcap.
Also, grabbing Air Sup to slot Kinetic Combat isn't all that helpful on a /SD toon....but that's just my 2 inf.

Looking back at the build, I just noticed something. Is mids showing the defense from Phalanx Fighting with one teammate in range? If so, then that would mean that I'm under the softcap and will have to redo this build again

I slotted 5 Panaceas it offers superior bonuses to just about every healing set.

Because aggro at such an early level isn't good and it drains endurance fairly quickly

Quick question, anyone know whether the defense in the builds above was when 1 ally was in range of Phalanx Fighting? If so, then I'm going to have to rework all of these builds
