I have been toying around with the villians and i like the power sets for curruptors. The sets I am interested are Assualt Rifle/Archery(or is it Trick Arrow?). What are some opinions and tips that I should consider? I am NOT new to to CoX, just new to villians.

Either AR or Archery /TA(I can't remember either) will do you good.

You'll find all Villains are more self sufficient and a little easier to solo with.

Corrs are not quite Blasters and not quite Defenders. They're a fusion of both. Their scourge inherant will give you a bit of extra punch as the fight goes on and they have enough support, buff/debuff in their secondaries to make them very worthy for a team. They can be a bit endurance heavy early on so take that into consideration.

All of the Corr secondaries are worth the trouble. I have a preference for /dark and /rad since both can cripple NPC's easily. But thats just me.

Welcome to the darkside. WE have cookies but you'll have to fight for them.

If you're considering both Assault Rifle and Archery as options for your primary on your first villain, I'd go Archery because you get the important powers fast and it's more fun to play early on.

AR is irritating early on - an AoE focused set with unreliable knockback on the first 2 AOEs and no high damage/slow recharge single target attack. It blooms late, but fills out nicely with Flamethrower, Ignite, and Full Auto rounding out the AOE goodness.

On the other hand, if you're considering an Assault Rifle/Trick Arrow corrupter, I'd like you introduce you to my friend Redraw McGraw. He'd shake hands, but that'd take more redraw.

I have a AR hero blaster and I love it. I have never used Archery or Trick Arrow but thinking of a villian with two different weapons, I like the idea. I created the toon, Mecha Morbid and I haven't finished the tutorial b/c I had to log off the instant I logged into Breakout, so when I get home tonight, I am anxious to ply my first villian.

You're going to have a lot of redraw with that combination of powers.

Basically, every time you use a power that requires a weapon, if you don't already have that weapon in your characters hands, the character has to go through an additional animation to draw the weapon from it's holster/sheath/quiver. The additional animation takes time, which means that it takes longer to activate your powers.

I have a 50 AR/Cold, and if I have to cast Sleet or Heat Loss in the middle of a fight, I have to redraw my rifle before I can use my attacks. It's not too bad for /cold because the powers consist of bubbles and long-recharge debuffs. /TA is a more active set, so I'd expect you'll end up with a lot more time wasted waiting for your character to draw his gun or bow.

Long story short, don't let your experience with this character convince you that villains aren't fun. Villains are fun; but I'm gonna bet that AR/TA is a real pain to play until 26, when you can immobilize guys in ignite patches with the entangling arrow.
