Mina's Weekly Ship Raid - 9/20 - 8pm EST

Hey everyone! Its time again for another Weekly Rikti Ship Raid! The last one went very well, even though we hit a speed bump because of a rogue team. We still got bomb credit, GM credit, and 300+ merits for everyone! I plan to do even better this week! We will meet as usual at Fort Plum, in Point du Hoc, in the War Zone. This is where the Asunder Badge is and it's where you get ported when the shields are up. Remember to come early! We start teams at 7:45 and we have locked up the zone a lot lately.

I always run my raids "Night Shift" style, and their FAQ is located here!

With i16 out we have a lot of new powersets and toons that I think people will want to bring to the party. However, I will be setting a limit! I am going to restrict the MWSR to people level 35 and higher. Mainly this is because you can only receive Vanguard Merits if you are 35+ and have the badge. For further information about why I am instituting this limitation, please read this FAQ by Steele Mangolia.

As always if you ever have any questions, comments, or concerns just give me a holler! My global is @Isthi.

Hope to see you all there!

Sorry everyone! Real life has intruded and I will NOT be running the ship raid this week. Everyone take care!

Since we don't have a generic raid thread -

Happened upon a raid going on later in the evening. I haven't done a raid at all in probably 1.5+ years now, mainly due to raids not being run late-enough for me. Was laggy as all get-out once we got in the middle but was still relatively fun.

Not sure I like the lifting of the level requirement; even though SK'd, we had at least one sub-30 character on the team and they just couldn't (maybe wouldn't?) do much of anything useful IMO. Died a lot and wanted a TP every time from the hospital (after waiting around several minutes waiting for a rez). Not necessarily every low level character will be like that, and I know there are plenty of 50 players who are, but still. And I believe they did say they were getting merits which seemed odd. I guess I have to re-read whatever the patch notes mentioned about the zone/merits.

And I'd have never seen Rikti Repairmen before. Didn't see the model since it was dead, but the bio didn't say much and I have no idea what their powers were. They should "auto" heal the bombs/AV

I've already forgotten about most of you

Vood; I thought the person who wasn't sure if they'd get merits was a level 50 who hadn't done the intro arc.

Never saw the repairmen before either.

Oh, and on the raid last night?

Who's bright idea was it to have non-level 50 team leaders?

Ouch, that sounded like a lot of fun in my absence.

You know, and the thing is? No offense to you, I appreciate you trying to get people together for these things, but it's not like it's a huge effort in brain power to run these things.

"Ok, run around the zone in a big mob clockwise. Ok, zerg the vents. Ok, zerg the front."

Heck worse case scenario, one person from every team can just solo a vent. There's been more than a few raids where I just popped 3 +defs and solo rushed vent and planted the bomb myself.

I'm aware of that Satanic. I'm not a great person or anything, I just provide a time, a place, and a few shouts in Request. The reason the raids work is the people that show up. I am a very small part of the equation.

Yeah, but at least you're smart enough to not ask level 44 people to be team leaders, thus insuring a full team is autoexemped to level 44, making them.... Useless.

Well, since the last three weeks, this hasn't gone off, I take it the weekly Ship Raids are done?

Aramina has had to move on (temporarily, we hope!) from the game, and so the raids referenced in these threads have stopped as of a few weeks ago.

Hopefully, though, someone will pick it up and run with it -- why don't you, Hammer?

Currently, we (NightShift) haven't discussed getting back on a schedule to do these.

Aramina has the link to the guide that Silent Zoe wrote for the Ship Raids, and as mentioned above, the added wrinkle of making sure team leaders are level 50 should be noted.

The one thing I enjoy about the Ship Raid, is that it's been "passed-down" from players - Aramina picked it up from NightShift who picked it up from Ryxx and Elegost.

All in all, these are pretty standard to run. The major issues are dealing with teams who don't pay attention to where the action is going, and of course, the bomb-ninjas

If someone else would like to pick up on these, you're more than welcome to drop me a line @Valdy and ask questions.

Other folks welcome!
