A question someone asked me. (A bit of a rant too.)

I was asked a question. You can see it below.

Since I don't want to take away from the meaning of the picture I posted. I'm starting a new thread to answer the previously mentioned question because it was sent to me annonymously.

The Question is case you missed it.

Quote:
How is this on topic or appropriate?
Well actually I was asked two questions.

1. As far as I understand this section of the forums is to "Discuss all matters related to the Victory server here". I think this definately relates to the Victory server if for no other reason that I have been playing on Victory since December 13, 2005.

2. It is appropriate because today is the 8th anniversary of that day. The day the world changed for most of the people in the world. Today is Patriot Day at least in the U.S. I challenge anyone to say that their lives weren't impacted in some way by what happened even if a little bit.

I don't even care that I was neg repped for it, it didn't hurt my score and as you can see was immediately cancelled out.

What I don't understand is the reason for the question. I find the question completely innappropriate, given the subject. Regardless of nationallity color, creed, religion, or whatever, everyone should remember those people. People died that day, people that didn't do anything to deserve it. If the loss of life is so meaningless to ask if taking a moment to remember them is appropriate on the day that they passed then I hope that I don't know the person that asked it.

Don't worry your name is still safe. And while I completely disagree with what you said. I will defend with very last breath your right to say it. More importantly those that have come before me did give their lives to protect your right to say it.

Like I said in the other post.

We must NEVER FORGET!

It's probably the concept that RL and gaming shouldn't mix and that no matter how well intentioned, that was the wrong place. Some people play "to get away from the problems of the real world" and would feel that such a thing shouldn't be brought up there. While I fall squarely in the "does not discuss religion or politics" mindset, I think the topic was perfectly fine to post.

Political topics, and anything related to 9/11 has a political component intended or not, get people riled up. I love talking politics myself, but I end up getting quite upset over it from time to time.

A number of posters object to RL topics impinging upon their game time (including time on the forums). As you have said, since you (and I since there was no violation of the Message Forum Rules and Guidelines) support their right to state their opinion, we can let this topic go.

If you are using Latin in your post you are probably trolling
