this patcher is pissin me off.... i cant get it to stick... stupid UAC *or whaterver seems like its trying to block it, i turn it off and no dice*
then out of curositiy i try getting the CO patcher to work *it didnt on my last computer* and to my amazement it DOES work, so im compleatly outa ideas... my dad says i should contact CoH/V tech support *not sure they would be any more help than you guys but who knows* and my last resort of contacting dell and saying "can you help me, ive been trying to get this applications running and have tried a verity of solutions to get it working, would you be able to give me any insight as to wtf is going on"
i srsly dont want to go back to my laptop to play CoH/V when I16 rolls out.... i BEARLY see any power f/x on it as is... and I16 is ALL about the power F/X :'(
Edit: one last thing i JUST thought could work *probly not but meh* is leave the launcher alone and play on Cruddy McCrud fest *aka lappy* untill october 22nd so that i can try with Win7 *im getting it free through dell*
Also, if you call Dell Tech Support (and get someone that actually speaks English AND knows what they are doing) one of the first things they will do is ask you to upgrade to SP2 through Windows Update. From what I understand, it's part of their contract with Microsoft to support official Service Pack updates and has some severe penalties if they don't.
Yeah, Dell won't block a Service Pack from Microsoft. Nor will any OEM that wants to keep their contracts with them.
If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.
