Try looking at server status. All the servers are down

Oh well. At least now I know - thanks.
I figured it was just the "normal maitenance" nonsense ::shrugs:: Test is down, too.

Yeah normal maintence is 9 to 10, but I'm sure they aren't working today and they should be up...must be coincidental E-Maint.

Well, of all the maintenance that can be automated, the following things spring to mind:
1. full database backups
2. database indexing
3. data warehousing (both game server stats and database server)
4. power cycling servers (doing this periodically to take care of "memory leaks")
I don't think they'd do anything manual today, like upgrading hardware drivers, too much chance for things to go wrong while (to my estimation) much of the staff has the day off.

Hmm. I can't connect to the game.
I was able to get to the login screen earlier, entered my password and then I got that login error message, check firewalls, etc. I closed it out, then tried again and now my updater won't connect.
Any ideas?
Tried again and was able to get to the login screen - here's the message I get:
The game client was unable to connect to the login server. This may be due to a local network issue such as a firewall block, or may be because the login server is down for maintenance. Please check your network settings and try again, or check http://www.cityofheroes.com/servers/index.html for current server status.
Servers are up according to the website.
