Cannot launch COH on Imac
Since you have another user account the fix should be relatively easy. Select your new user folder and use the Get Info command on the File menu. Expand the Sharing and Permissions section and write down the way it looks.
Then use Get Info on your old user folder, and set the permissions to look the same, only for that particular user instead. Then click the widget at the bottom and select Apply to Enclosed Items. There will be a delay while this occurs.
Incidentally, if you want to share your iTunes music, try this: Drag the Music folder out of the user folder and to the hard drive. Change its permissions to match those of the hard drive, using the procedure above. Then go to iTunes Preferences > Advanced and change the iTunes Music folder location to the new location.

Thanks for the response. Actually that was the first thing that I tried.. unfortunately it didn't work.
I might just move what I can over to the new user. Especially now that I can move my itunes library, thanks to your advice.
Thanks again.
Hi everyone,
Having a problem and hope you can help.
Simply put, I messed up and don't know how to fix it. I was having problems with Itunes and someone suggested I modify the permissions on my own user folder so my wife's login could access the itunes library on there. Well, bad idea.
Now, I can't launch CoH. It will jump a bit on from my dock but then it will stop. I read on a couple of posts here to check the console (I'm a bit of a Mac newbie) and voila, I did find something:
"8/29/09 2:03:18 PM [0x0-0x5f05f].com.transgaming.cityofheroes[347] wine: '/Users/paul/Library/Preferences/City of Heroes Preferences/wineserver-paul-imac.local-paul' must not be accessible by other users"
followed by
"8/29/09 2:03:18 PM com.apple.launchd[285] ([0x0-0x5f05f].com.transgaming.cityofheroes[347]) Exited with exit code: 1 "
Before that there seems to be more info, but nothing that reflects the error above. I went ahead and created another user account and loaded CoH on there and it worked fine with no problems. I tried to undo what I had done with the permissions but I still get that problem. I tried running the 'fix file permissions' function using the disk utility but that did not help. At this point, is it just easier to use the other login on my mac to run COH or is there a fix that someone can suggest? I appreciate if anyone has any advice (all this before I install snow leopard of course).
