No XP?
Were you in test mode? If so, you won't get any rewards XP, inf, tickets other than a handful of badges (most of which begin with "Virtual").
No, this was after I published it. The characters I used to test it solo earned XP, it was just the group that didn't.
Would you post your arc id please? I'm sure someone here can have a look at it.
There are several reasons why your team may have not gotten XP:
1) The enemies you fought do not go up to the level range you were in. I suspect you would notice this, as they would die rather quickly and they would be gray in appearance, rather than a myriad of possible other colors.
2) Your team composition was not all within a 5 level range. Anyone more than 5 levels below the highest character would not get experience.
3) You clicked 'test' rather than 'play' when you started the mission. If it happens again, click the Mission Architect button in your nav bar and see if you have additional options like turning on invincibility and whatnot.
4) You've discovered a weird bug nobody else has encountered yet. This will only be confirmed if others can test your arc.
Thanks for the reply. I unpublished the mission when I thought it was broken, as I didn't want low ratings from xp farmers. Later on I'll republish it and put the number up here.
I don't think #1 was the problem, as the enemies were all red and orange. As for #3, the mission was published at the time, and I'm pretty sure we played it normally.
#2 might have something to do with it, but I'm not sure. We had a range of levels - some low levels and some 50's - but I was the leader and I thought everything was scaled to the leader's level.
The same group played some other missions while I wasn't the leader, and we all earned XP despite the difference in levels. Have I just misunderstood how it works? :/
Doh! Maybe that's where I'm getting confused.
Anyways, as promised earlier the arc is 307274.

Your enemy range is 1-54. This is perfectly fine if you have a team to sidekick those players that are more than 5 levels below your highest character. I suspect that you played it on a level 50 with quite a few players that were 20-40 in range. None of them would have gotten any XP.
You have a few options to deal with this:
You can run this mission like it was a normal mission in the game, where you need enough SKs to have everyone in a similar level range, OR, you can go to mission parameters (click on the story book on [1]) and set the minimum and maximum level to something more team friendly. Setting your minimum level to 50 would probably be the most team friendly option. Now, this SK business will be done with in issue 16, and I highly recommend that when it comes out, you return the minimum level to 1. Until then, your best option is setting it to 50.
Overall, I felt your mission was good. I'll give it 5 stars.
If you set the minimum SK rules to 50 I will keep your arc ID# in mind on the few times I wind up in AE. As your mission plays very much like a 'normal' mission, it was quite nostalgic.
Thanks for the compliment.
Ok, I'll change it for now, and then tinker with it again when I16 comes out. Thanks for your help!
Edit: Ok, I set the minimum level to 50.
Hi, I'm a newbie to the MA but I've been enjoying it a lot. I love being able to make custom bad guys and storylines, and I've recently been working on my first mission.
The map is pretty simple - its a random, medium sized, CoH office building. There's a boss to fight, and two hostages to rescue, and a couple of patrols. The bad guys are a custom group made up mostly of minions, and the odd leiutenant. The group has no bosses, but the mission boss is a special character from another custom group.
I tested with characters of various levels, but last night I tried it for the first time with a high level group, and I don't think any of us were getting XP from the bad guys. I don't understand why, and I haven't been able to figure it out. I want to fix it before asking another group to test, because the group I was with last night were a bit annoyed that they weren't getting any for it. They were kind enough to finish it anyway to help me test though.
So, does anyone have any ideas why it might be borked? I don't want to change things unless I know they're the cause of the problem.
Is it because the group doesn't have any bosses? I don't see why this should matter as all the minions were orange and red, and even minions in regular groups give *some* XP.
I think the character I was using at the time of creation was a low level. Would this make a difference? The mission is open to all levels, so I figured it would scale up or down depending on the players.
Its a fun tool, but its really confusing!

One other thing, while messing around making my own groups, I deleted some that I didn't like. In some parts of the MA, such as trying to add a captive, it shows a list of the old groups that I deleted, instead of the new groups that I have now. There's a workaround, but its slipped my mind for a minute. Is this a known bug?
