yes you can. I bought my macbook so I can connect with my friends while I am on the road. My main computer is a windows desktop that isn't very portable and I wanted another mac for the fact that there easier to use IMO and quite powerful.
I have had it for 6 months now and haven't regretted the purchase one bit.
