Katana attack chain

Really depends on your slotting (Procs mainly) and recharge.

Unslotted, the highest DPA attacks in Katana are Soaring Dragon, Golden Dragonfly and Gambler's Cut. Gambler's Cut starts to have a slight edge on Golden Dragonfly when you factor in Damage Procs. Sting of the Wasp comes in at a distant 4th, then Flashing Steel, then Lotus Drops, then Divine Avalanche.

I generally try and aim for as close to GC --> SD --> GC --> GD as possible, as it's your optimum ST damage output chain. To squeeze a Divine Avalanche in there, you'll need to activate it at a minimum of once every five seconds for the buffs to overlap if you're double-stacking it. The ideal place for that in the above chain would probably be alongside SD, as it has a slightly lower animation time than GD and you'll be using it every 4 seconds or so anyway...

Divine Avalanche -> Gambler's Cut -> Golden Dragonfly -> Gambler's Cut -> Divine Avalanche -> Gambler's Cut -> Soaring Dragon -> Gambler's Cut

Technically, the double stack drops for a fraction of a second in that chain. I will generally use that chain, then dynamically drop one or two Gambler's Cuts depending on the situation, such as if I'm doing a lot of moving between enemies, or I missed a Divine Avalanche, that kind of thing. You're looking at 90% recharge in Gambler's Cut, which is trivial. Put an Achilles' Heel in Gambler's Cut. If you can afford it, I'd use five Hecatombs (all but damage/recharge).

Mind you, I'm assuming “best” here means best single target sustained DPS.

So
DA
ACT=1.584

GC
ACT=.924

GD
ACT=1.98

SD
ACT=1.584

So GC needs to rechrage in 1.584(DA or SD)
(3/1.584)-1= 90% recharge

DA needs to rechrage in 3.432(GC->SD->GC)
well that would be 0 recharge needed

GD needs to recharge in 8.448(GC->DA->GC->SD->GC->DA->GC)
(12/8.448)-1= 42% recharge

SD needs to recharge in 8.844(GC->DA->GC>GD->GC->DA->GC)
(9/8.844)-1=2% recharge

As you said the only one that really needs any Recharge is GC which is not that hard to get. I was plaining on using Heactombs and Achilles's Heel in GC but didn't now how much recharge I need in GC. I had all but the Dam Hecatombs in but only needing 90% I will be switching that with the Dam/Rech, so GC can do more damage.

Yes that is what I mean.

Thanks again Werner.

Just out of curiosity do you have any kind of DPS comparison for this attack chain vs a best DPS chain for Katana?

Not one that takes any top end slotting into account. But for just raw, unenhanced numbers, you're losing about 20% DPS compared to the top DPS chain (Golden Dragonfly -> Gambler's Cut -> Soaring Dragon -> Gambler's Cut). Divine Avalanche hurts. Still, the recharge requirement is MUCH lower, and it does enough DPS for Pylons and most AVs.
