Working link to Kinetic/Electricity build/guidance?

Hiyas. With the double xp weekend I tried a Kinetic/Electricity defender & found myself having a blast.

But with the move to the forums I'm having trouble finding builds/guides as the links on the stickied thread seem to be broken.

Any chance anyone can help me find a good thread?

Thanks heaps!

Specific questions? Is this a viable build for soloing missions or should I forget about solo & stick to team play?

In a teams its easy: SB everyone, let someone grab aggro, run in, throw Fulcrum Shift & Siphon Power then alternate attacks with heals & Transference as needed until everything falls over.

In solo... by the time I get my buffs off I'm usually dead before I can start attacking.

I took Hasten & Super Speed for concept & fun reasons (wicked fun being so FAST, pity running speed seems capped though), then Fitness for a little extra stamina if I exemp below Transference, then Recall Friend, then Medicine (Stimulant, Aid Self & Resuscitate) because I wanted the option to rez.

But it occurs to me that while I'm a great team asset, solo I've got zero defenses & not enough hit points to survive long without spamming heals.

Should I abandon Fitness & Medicine to fit in Fighting's Tough & Weave? They seem really poor bonuses.

How about the Leadership pool? Do I NEED Fitness' Stamina to run all those toggles?

How many slots should I be setting up for useful sets?

I've used Mids to plan out what powers I can fit into a build, but I've yet to figure out how to fit/calculate set bonuses.

Bottom line: I'm confident I can be useful & have fun in a team, but what is my best strategy to survive & succeed solo?

I don't expect to solo AV's, but I'd like to be able to reliable run at least the lower difficulty missions.

Edit:
At L44 these are the powers I currently have (planned):
1 - Transfusion
1 - Charged Bolts
2 - Lighting Bolt
4 - Siphon Power
6 - Hasten
8 - Siphon Speed
10 - Swift
12 - Speed Boost
14 - Super Speed
16 - Ball Lighting
18 - Health
20 - Stamina
22 - Inertial Reduction
24 - Recall Friend
26 - Transference
28 - Stimulant
30 - Aid Self
32 - Fulcrum Shift
35 - Resuscitate
38 - Thunderous Blast
41 - Thunder Strike
44 - Charged Armor
47 - Tesla Cage
49 - Aim

I've never taken a travel power with a Kin, they have 2 in the primary. I use transfusion as part of my "attack chain" when solo. I'd suggest dropping the medicine pool and taking the leadership pool. Sapping is a viable playstyle solo, especially with hasten and siphon giving short circuit a fast recharge, and the electric app gives you access to power sink.

Thanks for the advice Snakebit. I've managed to figure out how to factor in enhancements sets on Mids now (pretty obvious once I realised it) and I'll definitely be dropping Medicine in favor of Leadership. I think I'll hold on to Super Speed though. Yes Kinetics has 2 "travel powers", but I dread the thought of needing to find a mob to reactivate them off every 60 seconds or so.

When I've got a build together I'll post it here with my reasoning.

Rats. I was hoping to be able to use "Performance Shifter: Chance for +Endurance" on one or more of my Kinetics powers to boost my recovery so I could skip Fitness/Stamina but it seems that would be bad according to Paragon Wiki.

With Transfusion and Transference both targeting off enemies, anyone got any recommendations for the best sets on those powers?

IO Sets

Go with the accurate heal for Transfusion.

Thanks again Amy Amp, I was leaning toward Touch of the Nictus so I'm glad I'm looking in the right direction.

How about Transference? Efficacy Adaptor seems to be the best set for both of those since Performance Shift +Endurance would apparently help my targets, or am I missing something?

I don't know if the Theft of Essence proc would have a chance to give the targets of the heal the additional end, or not. Note the word targets. For Dark Regen(Dark Armor), it gives the caster extra end for each target it hits in an AoE, so I'm wondering if the opposite in a way would happen. It might be worth looking into.

I could see doing 5 slotting Performance Shifter with the 6th slot being for acc/recharge from Efficacy Adaptor. General slotting for Transference is 2 acc, 2 end mod, 2 recharge. The 6th slot is there to get the acc and recharge more in line. If not that, 6 slot Efficacy Adaptor and call it a day since the 6th slot gives recharge and the set should be cheaper.

SC generally gets slotted 1 acc, 2 end mod, 3 recharge. I would be tempted to mix that one up to maybe pull off the Energy Manipulator stun proc since SC is a PBAoE and can be used a number of times per mob.

Ok, I think I've settled on my build plan. Before I post it I'll outline my reasoning & prioritization in choosing sets.

Firstly I figured I can't be too accurate, have too much recovery or too many defense bonuses.

Most of kin/elec's best powers need to hit to work, so even if I've capped my accuracy I'm happy to add more bonuses to counter having my accuracy debuffed.

So once my powers hit how do I survive long enough to drop my enemies? With my relatively low hit points ANY damage is going to hurt so I'm better off not getting hit all if I can avoid it. So, resistance is nice, but defense is better. That makes Leadership/Maneuvers a prime pool choice. Add in the defense bonuses I can get from 6-slotting Gaussian's Synchronised Fire-Control onto Tactics and that's a must-have too.

After being convinced to take Leadership & selecting Maneuvers and Tactics I realised that will mean running two toggles. Add that to kin/elec's high-speed power activations and I expect to be going through my endurance FAST. Add in the defense bonuses available I can get through the Health & Stamina sets & the Fitness pool becomes very handy. The fact that they are always on doesn't hurt either since I'll already have quite enough powers to choose from in the heat of battle thanks.

So thats my reasoning: I want to hit, I want to avoid getting hit and I want to have the best endurance recovery I can get.

Bearing in mind this is mostly theory (I'm only L47 as of writing this & will need to respec before I can re-slot and start putting my sets together) here's my Mids' build. Opinions are welcome.
