Do you know if they're going to provide an automated number conversion from old to new? That' seems very unlikely.

I'm with zombie man. The links are probably going to continue to remain broken.
Maybe, but for the forum guide to guide posts and such, the mods have generally let the authors rewrite the posts to correct issues like this. Your bookmarks will likely remain broken, but interally, it's extremely viable to write a script to replace all of the links.
Also, it would require a bit of work, but with some clever scripting and apache mod_rewrite rules, they could make it so that all of the old links still work. I'd work on it, but they'd have to give me 1) admin access to their forums server, 2) access to the old and new forum database, and 3) a wad of cash, because it wouldn't be easy by any stretch. 
We've been saving Paragon City for eight and a half years. It's time to do it one more time.

People with guides that have links will need to go edit the guides and fix the links.
As far as I can tell, there is no longer any restriction on editing posts.
The oldest post of mine that I can find is this one, from Feb 2008, and as you can see at the bottom, I was able to edit it just fine.

I'm a little frustrated because the guides i was using cannot be opened. None of the links work even from google i can't get into anything. Is it just me or a common problem right now?
