freezing game

my city of heroes game keeps freezing up at varying points in the game when i start it up, all from a couple of seconds after logging in with a character, to a couple of minutes, but its always in the beginning of my game time. I just restarted my account, and since i've been away i got a new computer with Windows Vista. could this be the source of the problem? if yes, what can be done? if no, what then could be the cause of the freeze? does anyone know?
I know i should contact tech support about this, but the f***ing support site wont allow me to send the question for some reason.

It could be a problem with Vista, but it may well be a problem with your graphics settings. Firstly, make sure you have the latest drivers for your graphics card. Then try starting CoH in safe mode (check box on the launcher), and once you're in-game start to slowly increase your graphics settings. If it is your graphics settings, this will allow you to identify which of the settings is causing the problem.

First thing to do is get the Vista and Nvidia hotfixes from the the MS windows site. Windows update won't pick them up though, but will most likely be the first result on a google.
