Some Cosmetic Changes

Just a few ideas I had for some cosmetic changes to some powers...

Blaze
Change the name to Blazing Gaze and convert it to firey eye beams.
Reasons: Stylistically it makes more sense to have the shorter ranged but more powerful attacks (Fire Breath) coming from the head-area and the longer ranged attacks coming from the hands. Plus, of course, firey eye-beams would look AWESOME in comparison to the 'just-another-fireball' animation Blaze currently uses.

Boxing
Change the name to Bash and use the left hand Brawl animation instead of the right hook it currently uses.
Reasons: First and foremost, it would save redrawing any weapon every time (off-hand BD attack uses a kick). Secondly, it works thematically for several powers - it would grant Shield users a shield bash power, and AR users would gain a gun-butt bash, effectively a weaker version of the Arachnos Soldier's Pummel attack. Finally, a boxer who only ever uses a right hook is a hopeless boxer.

I don't believe it works like that, because Boxing is a different set all together it won't stop you from having to redraw your weapon. Brawl is the only exception but that is probably because it's an inherent.

I'm sure someone can explain it much better than me though

1) The reason Brawl does not cause redraw is because there are 450789601256 (rounded down) different brawl animations.

2) Making an actually useful (decent stats) version of brawl with same animations but different name and placing it in a power pool? Yes, that might be a good idea.

3) I like Blazing Gaze idea, but there is probably at least one glasses/blindfold wearing fire thrower out there who would make LOUD NOISES about his concept being ruined if it were implemented. Which is why Devs strongly prefer to not change the appearance/animation of existing powers. Then again Castle has said (no link, sorry) that Blaze damage/animation time is unbalanced and should be changed.


I do not suffer from altitis, I enjoy every character of it.

The animators (and the programmers linking animations to powers) have evidently never been in a fight, seen a fight, or even been in the vague vicinity of knowing about actual fighting moves - take the Super Strength tanker/brute set for a prime example:

'Jab' is animated as an uppercut.
'Punch' is an odd elbow downstrike maneuver.
'Haymaker' is some sort of flourished two-hander hammerstrike.

At least in 'Hand Clap' the toon actually... claps their hands.

I hate all these things about SS and constantly wish they would rename/reanimate the powers to beter reflect what they are.
